okay, heres a short story.

In september i went to my primary doc and told them i had a pill problem so he put me on suboxone i was on it until december 20th. So my question is will my doctor ever trust me enough to perscribe me any painkillers. The reason why im asking is ive been having lower back pain for the last month and i can barley stand at work im always hunching over and leaning over stuff looking like a lazy employee. I do want to confront my doctor but i dont want to look like a junky. Fuck i might be SOL.:?

If you can explain your symptoms convincingly it would seem a shame that they wouldn't treat you at least they would give you some codeine or tramadol. Though i cant vouch for the personality of your doctor which often as a big impact on what they will prescribe.

Also i might add that maybe a chiropractor maybe a better option or maybe even try getting a massage.....?

i thought of a chiro but they do more bad than good for you back. The thing is i do have health insurance so id rather get a script rather than pay 70 for a massage.my doc is very understanding and all but, i just fear looking like i need a fix, im in limbo. I dont want to switch doctors i thought of it but then i will look like im doctor shopping and what not.

I am guessing you live in the states?

I would just go to him be as open and honest as possible maybe even say i have been putting this off for a long time blah blah maybe he will be able to look at your back and determine the problem and then will be convinced that there is a real problem and then you have no worries about him thinking your just after pain meds.

You would be (pleasantly) surprised then if you came to NY

Regardless, I still stand by my point: OP is SOL.

No non-retarded doc wants this kind of liability, in my most humble opinion.

This is not OD material, read the guidelines.

On the subject before I kill it, yeah, I've seen lots of examples of people being put on maintenance drugs and then somehow later on weeks, months, or years later, are back on full-agonists. They probably saw different doctors, but if you live in a state where suboxone is prescribed, chances are your state has a prescription monitoring program. In CA, FL, NY and many other states, doctorshopping in the old school tradition sense (at least the kind that was most prevalent here in CA) is more difficult because of the statewide RX monitoring program.

When I joined my chronic pain management clinic, during my introduction interview, they had a binder full of pages front and back, of all the controlled substances I had ever filled in the state of CA within the past few years. It was pretty impressive, and since all my prescriptions were legitimate he had no problems welcoming me to the clinic. I've never been on maintenance like Suboxone or Methadone, and if he had seen either of those in the binder, I doubt I would have been allowed into the program but my pain clinic is HUGE, and strict as fuck. Yet somehow, like I said before, I know people that have doctors who RX both maintenance drugs and then full agonists. Personally, that has not been my experience.
