How long does it take for Nitrazepam to come into Full Effect and when does it stop working.

Obviously I used Google first there is not much Information about this particular Benzodiazepine never mind my very specific question which I GREATLY JUST NEED answered please and thank you to all reading this.

nitrazepam isn't a metabolite of valium at all, it's a completely different benzodiazepine. i hear it's a great benzo but i've never had the chance to try it firsthand. i'd expect effects to come on within an hour of consuming it (orally) and the half-life is just a bit longer than that of xanax so i'd expect for you to "feel" it for probably 8-16 hours; a lot of this depends on tolerance, if you are fairly naive to benzos and taking this for the first time, you'll probably feel it more on the 12-16 hour side of the spectrum; if you've used benzos before, you should be closer to the 8 hour side of things. wikipedia will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about nitrazepam.

Xanax only lasts like 2-3 hours for me..... Sooo the Nitrazepam will last at least 8 hours minimum I just want to make sure sooO I time it allowing me to enjoy some of the Buzz before I fall asleep I want it to still be effecting when I decide to sleep.

Was prescribed these for insomnia for several years. Didn't really work too well for that, I mostly piled up the pills and took them when coming down from amphetamines or such. Effects start within 20 mins and lasts up to 6 hours or so.

It's like a more sedating / shorter acting version of diazepam. It's a nice benzo if your tolerance isn't too high, if you are on xanax or klonopin then don't expect much from these pills.

I missed this earlier.
I just want to warn you that with hypnotics, "enjoying the buzz", before you are in bed is obviously very nice, but it is also very dangerous.
This is because your subconscious mind is taking over from your conscious mind (if you know what I am trying to say).
This leads to you not being able to make conscious decisions.
For example.....if you feel like eating some ice cream, you will eat ice cream. If you don't have ice cream, then you will go out to the store and buy some.
Without taking into account that you are on a hypnotic drug, that is trying to make you sleep, and you are out there buying ice cream.
Any idea that you have in this state of mind is a good idea.
Your brain doesn't tell you that it is actually dangerous to be anywhere, but in bed and asleep.
This is a very simple example of how the amnesiac effects of, specifically hypnotic, benzos can be so dangerous.
Especially if you haven't taken the drug before.
It is looking for trouble.

I'm putting this out there for your safety.
And the buzz from taking nitrazepam for the first time isn't that great, in fact you probably won't even remember it when you wake up the next day.

This is both dose-dependent and variable between different people. For me, at doses between 5-10mg, it reached potent effects around 60-90 minutes and had a duration of about 11-14 hours.

At larger, recreational doses the duration was a little longer, and while its strength and sedative effects made it probably my favorite recreational benzo, it also seemed to produce paradoxical effects (mostly being irritable and kind of a dick) and amnesia more than most, so I became wary of using it for anything else than insomnia.

This should not be the case if you take reasonable dosages (it never happened when I took my prescribed dose of 10mg at bedtime) and don't combine it with alcohol. I never had this problem with benzos when taken in reasonable amounts, but the z-drugs however, that's a whole other story...

Toz, the OP has never taken Nitrazepam before. If he has, then why ask the question.
I hear what you are saying and I'm just posting about the dangers of taking hypnotics and not going to bed after taking them, it's not the drug, it's what you get up to when you are "awake" on it. Also the OP is looking for the buzz of a hypnotic, and I can't say "sure go ahead", because of this semi-conscious state he is looking for can only end badly at some point.
I've been through so many accidents while on hypnotics and am lucky to be alive and unharmed, but when I think back on each one of them I think to myself ( How the hell am I still alive ).

Nothing bad might happen now, but down the line it is inevitable that it will. And it could cost someone their life.

I have took Nitrazepam before and know exactly what your talking about shredded lettuce I am aware. I always end up smoking way more Cannabis than I need in that state of mind lmfao rofl.

What is the longest it will last I took some at 6:10 pm and woke up at 7AM and was still feeling it stumbling and a little dizzy lol which is 13 hours later. I always thought that Flurazepam was the longest acting Benzo it lasts for me 8-12 hours.

For you I would say 13-15 hours, wouldn't you?

Definitely, if not a bit more. If you wake up stumbling and dizzy 13 hours later, you've still got a few hours back to baseline; you should still experience residual effects for a while after the peak effects, and being dizzy indicates more than mild residual effects, to me anyway.

Tolerance to hypnotic/sedative effects develops quite quickly, but it's still quite a long duration, which makes this an unsuitable hypnotic for many people.

It is mostly scripted for the elderly(no offense) here. (65+years).

On the one hand that's strange, as its long half life and effects profile would leat to accumulation and residual sedation the next day - but then again, I suppose the elderly have more time to be sedated than, say, people that have to wake up for work.
In my experience doctors have been relatively reluctant to prescribe it, opting for short-acting drugs whenever possible, both in Finland and the Netherlands (although in Finland, they are also wary of prescribing midazolam for fears of it being injected; here that seems less of an issue).

In both countries I've initially been offered the Z-drugs and temazepam (zolpidem, zopiclone and temazepam all seem to be on equal footing). I've then been offered various other drugs I didn't like (quetiapine) or find effective (mirtazapine, lorazepam), before nitrazepam was considered as an option. Flunitrazepam and flurazepam are also available here, but together with nitrazepam they seem to be the last resorts among benzo hypnotics (and with good reason, if relief can be achieved with shorter-acting drugs) - inconvenient for me, as nitrazepam was long the only one I'd really found effective. When I moved to the Netherlands I tried lormetazepam, however, which I also found very effective, with a suitable duration of action, potent hypnotic effects and seemingly little amnesic effect.

I do not understand how Nitrazepam was one of the first few Benzodiazepines ever made but nobody knows much about it least I could not find anything on google. Newer ones like Clonazepam which ALSO has a VERY LONG half-life is well known to last 6-8 hours duration of Effect.

I would agree in England it seems they give this to elderly patients quite regularly would even go as for as to say its the go to drug for sleep problems in the over 50's.

I have found it be quite enjoyable, more so than a lot of benzo's although we all know with benzo its all very subjective. Found it generally took around 12 hours till baseline.
