favourite oldskool rave track

Shades of Rhythm - Sound of Eden

Oh yes! 1991, burned up many a dance floor to this. Never knew who by or what the track was. Cheers for that Adam, nice one!

Maybe not aged quite as well but have another '91 classic guaranteed to get The Gallery rocking:

B side a bona fide classic too:

Sepher i loved ur post haha total classics - what a fucking time that must of been. Wish i was 18 in the early 90's

Oh it was immense mate. 1990 was about the best time of it for me. Only really the Warehouse and the Gallery ( DJ Tim, Utah Saints house DJ at the Gallery ) in Leeds catering to the rave scene ( and The Orbit in Morley ) back then so they were packed out with the same faces week in, week out, nearly everyone in the place off their tits, getting on for 2000 people friday / saturday nights, then the blues clubs down Chapeltown for when the clubs kicked out at 2am for those wanted to keep going till sun up. Good times man, good times. :) All got a bit diluted when everyone else started jumping on the bandwagon, wasn't the same post-92 that's for sure. :(

This was big 1991. I loved this! =D

^Absolutely massive tune. I never knew who that was. Nice one nasty! :) '92 though according to wikipedia. Surely this must have been floating about on white label earlier than that?

Pretty sure this was one of the first progressive house music tunes from the UK. That piano bit is just amazing.

Haha sepher i'm so jealous dude. That's what it's all about - the whole crowd just off their nuts loved up and vibing the fuck out as one :D
That fire burning tune is massive! guaranteed to go off in any warehouse today still.
So was Leeds one of the main spots ?

Actual "TRUE" rave music from the 90s thread

Okay, so I'm from the east coast of the USA, and EDM has changed a lot, maybe this has been done before, but I'm doin it anyway.....I wanna get all nostalgic about the original rave scene, plus I wanna get some of you youngins opinions on the vinyl we used grew up on...it was such a small scene back then....I'm from the US, but I'd really love to hear some other shit from that era, also maybe some new shit that draws on the same influences...I'll start with a classic rave track!

^Yeah, I know both the tracks you guys just posted....Good stuff
That Messiah track is from a tape that was like a whole "techno opera"...my friend had a copy of it when we were like 14
Let me see if I can find the most famous track from it....I haven't been able to find a copy of that album anywhere, and I've looked for years, but a lot of shit has been washing up on Youtube lately....
Yeah, this may not be the exact mix from the Messiah tape that the song you just posted was, but it's pretty damn close and a good mix

the song is on the bside of the temple of dreams ep. i have it on vinyl actually lol.. that whole cd and all the movie references it had was pretty cool (videodrome, the running man etc)
