Drug Use You Have Seen That Goes Against Harm Reduction

What are some of the worst things that you have seen people do when taking drugs that would go against everything we preach here? I'm not talking about bad things they did while on drugs, or what they did to obtain the drugs. I am talking about stuff that is basically a slap in the face to harm reduction advocates.

Here is my example, and it was all done by the same person during a single high.

First he drew up water from the bottle of water that he had been drinking out of all day, and he used a dull syringe that he had used over 10X in order to do so.

After mixing up a shot in which he used the same amount of bags as usual [5] despite it being a new batch of unknown potency, he obtained a filter by biting off a piece of his cigarette filter. I guess that maybe he figured he was already shooting up using water that has some of his saliva in it, so might as well use a filter that has it on it as well. 8)

When it came time to shoot it up, he didn't bother to untie the tourniquet before pushing the plunger down, so a decent amount of blood came out of the injection site. His solution to this problem was to lick the injection site to rid it of the excess blood, and then he finally untied the tourniquet.

Since the dope turned out the be good and had him nodding properly, he wanted to get more which meant getting behind the wheel of his car so he could drive to the dealers house.
 
Well I still mix benzos with dope even though that's pretty stupid.... I also still rolled and did dxm while I was on anti-depressants. I knew it was bad but still did it... luckily nothing happened. I also quit using my anti-depressants cold turkey... I was on a 150mg's of Zoloft and maybe even 200mg's at the end but I just stopped taking them instead of tapering down. Uh, every time I knew better but still was like whatever but that's just me being stupid and not caring.

Now one thing I remember seeing with this chick I was kind of friends with and doing dope with. She used this one needle over and over again... her hands would swell because of the needle being dull and it was horrible. She also used cigarettes as a filter and didn't know any means of harm reduction. She learned how to shoot dope in rehab. Yeah, rehab.

This kid I knew also did lsd and other psychedelics every day. I'm not even exaggerating... he would even go to school on lsd. He seemed so fried... like I know that is a safe drug but he just kept doing it nonstop and who know's what was truly in the tabs. He claimed to still see trails of colors after he stopped doing it.

I also know these kids who roll all the time and oh god they made me look at my drug use. One also has squirrel as a pet and he pets it as it spazzed out... he even had medication for it and would feed it a nut. They were all like he needs his medication give the squirrel his medication and I was like wtf... you have a squirrel locked in a cat carrier. Let the poor thing go! They were like we use to be A students and now all we do is roll almost every other day... and they vend at raves so raves are pretty much their life. They never take breaks.

Yeah, I was smoking weed with these kids and we chilled... I sat on the floor by what I thought was a cat in the carrier... and this girl kept going up to it to put her hands in it. I thought I saw a poofy tail of a cat and long behold it was a squirrel. I can't believe I was sitting next to a squirrel!! And when they took it out of the cage I was like flipping shit inside my head. I was rolling, dropped acid and did ketamine... I thought maybe I'm tripping but I wasn't and was like the hell.

I mean these kids were nice and all but you could easily tell the drug use was effecting them... The kid who owned the squirrel would help out other people with their squirrel's and this one kid posted on his facebook asking what was wrong with his squirrel. He said it was acting crazy and he believed it had brain damage because it wasn't being calm in it's cage. He was going to let it go to a squirrel sanctuary but he believed it had too many neuro problems... They were like talking about medication for it and what not.

The kid who was at the afterparty though who owned the squirrel ended up killing the poor thing by stepping on it's ribs one day when he was high. Luckily it wasn't the night I was there. He was all depressed about it... I'm sure he'll get another squirrel soon though.

Lmao all I could think that night was what am I doing here? Why am I socializing with these people? Am I one of them? Then I thought nah, I don't do this shit all the time and my brain is fine... I just can't be them.

It's not normal when everyone keeps redosing mdma, doing lines of k and coke, spinning (DJ's).... and then there are people trying to give a squirrel it's medications because it was acting too abnormal. I mean the drug part was cool but the squirrel part hell no...
 
^I mean, I'm kind of left speechless here, I've seen all kinds of retarded shit....One time, I ran into this chick I knew who was a known prostitue, a straight junkie...a few days previous I met her and started talking to her, she was dope-sick and I gave her a .5 of tar to get her well...

A few days later, I see her near where I was staying at the time, she's like, "Are you dope sick honey?"....And i was dopesick!

she offers to get me well, and I'm like sure....

she takes me to this house in a scummy neighborhood, there's all these street junkies in there!

She pulls out a cooker and a dirty spoon and throws 2 gs of tar in the cooker!

she proceeds to draw up water with a rig that clearly has leftover blood in it and throw 3 mls on the dope split between 6 people!

they all draw up, and she offers me to draw up my 50 units....

I'm dopesick and staring a fat shot in the face....but i didnt have a clean rig!

I just walked away sick! I have plenty of stories like that but that one stands out! Seattle WA baby! Stick by your guns and be safe!

PS, this is STILL common practice for a lot of IV drug users!
 
People cooking oxy or other pills until they boil and proceed to filter them through a cotton and shoot. Good god

There was this shooting gallery I always used to go to. People would just shoot up and literally drop their rigs with no cap on the couch or floor, or even throw them into the ceiling/walls point first so they get stuck.

People "booting" aka they shoot up what's in their rig, and without removing it, pull back on plunger suck up blood and shoot again, multiple times "just in case there's some residue left in the rig". That has to be the ultimate disgusting/wtf moment
 
i used to hang with this couple when i was heavily into and addicted to IV meth, starting to get into opioids. they would share spoons and filters; the chick had a massive hole in the crook of her arm from terrible hygiene and shooting practice and would ALWAYS use that exact same spot to hit whether she was shooting meth or oxycontin. it was hideous to watch and i always made an effort to turn or look away when she shot. i never prepped anywhere near her for fear of potentially catching something as i was unaware whether she was clean or not. she would almost never swab the area and more often than not ever use a filter of any sort when it came to drawing up her meth :|
 
had a 10 minute argument over whether or not you could add adderall xr beads to a blunt and get an effect from it.

tried to explain how direct contact with flame would destroy the active ingredient yada yada yada

kid wasnt having it, so I smoked a bowl while he wasted 5 bucks
 
When I was doing heroin years ago I was shooting up with my buddy and he pulls out this disgusting used rig. He claimed it had been used 50+ times and it was obviously dull as hell. He goes to hit the vein and the point bends going into his arm making a bloody mess. He then continues to keep stabbing himself with the bent rig trying to get it in. I told him to give up but he was persistant. Eventually he got the shot... but what a mess.

I would've offered a fresh rig if I had one and I wasn't about to give him mine even though he kept asking for it... after I had used it of course 8)
 
9 year olds selling pot on the streets...

12 year olds addicted to heroin...

Glue sniffing kids living on the streets...
 
The junkies picking needles out of the trash in Tompkins Square Park because they're too lazy to go to the needle exchange and don't want to spend any of their cash on a 10 pack of rigs from the pharmacy...
 
years ago a guy I knew, a one-legged dude who had diabetes and AIDS from shooting up, and during a drinking binge he brought home an obese alcoholic prostitute and they would have had sex except he told her she stank too much and needed to take a shower first. She got insulted and refused to take a shower but she wouldn't leave either cause he'd promised to pay her with vodka. I saw him on crutches in the hallway and he's explaining the whole situation to me, how he really wants to have sex with this reeking vodka prostitute who won''t take a bath or leave, plus he couldn't throw her out cause she was guarding his prosthetic leg till he fucked her and bought her booze. I didn't even know what to say, there was just so much wrongness...
 
Oh I remember something that happened recently.... my one friend and another kid found a bag of what they believed was ketamine on the floor of this rave we were at. They tasted it and couldn't determine what it specifically was and they thought it tasted like this or that... They were pretty sure it was ketamine but just cut with something and they ended up snorting it. My friend has been in the scene for 13 years and all I could think was are you stupid? You don't even know what the hell that was and you're going to try it? It was really fucking stupid of them.

We also were all rolling, dropping acid, snorting ketamine, smoking weed that night and some kids were even drinking. However we all were driving to an afterparty and then got more fucked up.... they still all got in a car to get kerosene to do fire poi and I pretty sure that they could of crashed the car but still decided to drive anyways...
 
I've seen people drinking on pills. Shit I've drank on pills before many times.

Did 160mg adderall on 3.5g of shrooms.

Drank insane amounts of alcohol that shoulda left me stone cold dead. I had a bac of .37 on the night I got my dwi. I was drivin blackout drunk.

Did a shot with others w water from a water bottle and unfiltered. We did use fresh needles though so + 1.

Drank on xanax and did pills on xanax.

Binged on 1.2 g of mdma (molly) in one week.

Prob a fuck ton more but I'm high and can't remember anymore now. If somethin comes to mind ill post.
 
A girl who is no longer with us, would mix:

GHB,
Alcohol,
Benzos,
Heroin,
and Meth

All in the same night. She is unfortunately no longer alive. I kept her from asphyxiating a number of times, but was not fortunate enough to be there for her on the night of her death. RIP.
 
Yikes, sorry Renz...

I haven't seen anything too, too out of the ordinary. I guess it's kind of sad that sharing needles and such things are not all that unusual, and that's mostly what I've seen... sharing needles.
