right lung pain from snorting meth?

So I have been using meth for about 2 months now.
The usage is partially heavy but not daily. I've always snorted it.
I am also a smoker but not a heavy drinker.
I take vitamins daily and actually eat decently healthy.
Anyway...

I took a usual break from meth for about two or.three days. Got plently
of sleep and ate alot of food and I got decent exercise because I walk my two high energy pits. then
used again. with one other person I snorted .2 within a 12 hour time frame.
so i'd say before we started resting and coming down and going through that
Whole deal, maybe just about 20 hours went by. Within the down time I ate well,
Again took my vitamins, ect. Then slept for 12 hours.
This all brings me to today. I woke up this morning with moderate to
Severe lung pain on the right side. It was complicated to move around
For a while. It hurt when I breathed. So I drank alot of green tea and avoided my
Usual coffee. Took a steamy shower for a long time. Resisted usual consumption
Of cigarettes. Smoked 4 today. I kill a pack in 24 hours usually.
I also had my lady rub some knots out of my.back. After all this the pain
Has calmed down however there is an ache there without doubt.
It is no where near severe now though.
What I would like to know is if I should be concerned about this as far as long term.
Or if maybe it could just be a simple stupid perhaps overexaggerated pain from a harsh drug.
I honestly can't read this one.

Sorry for such a long thread. I figure detail makes more sense of things for the reader.
Any input would be so very appreciated.
Please and thank.you. =]

I don't blame you for being alarmed. You might think if if was from the meth your nose would hurt first. But who knows?
If it's still bothersome tomorrow, see a physician. It could be a virus or bronchitis coming on.

I wouldn't wait too long before seeing a doctor if it concerns you this much. To be honest, the meth being the main factor in lung pain is somewhat of a low chance.

Chest/lung pain is pretty serious especially for a smoker and a stimulant user. You took a break, so your tolerance was lower and thus your blood pressure and heart rate should theoretically spike higher than usual.

(Meth)Amphetamine is also a bronchodilator and can cause anxiety. As your body comes off of it, it can cause tightness and pain in the lungs due to constriction of the inside. For anxiety, chest pain and being tense are common side effects.

However, in your case, I would see a doctor. It sounded like actual pain and not just discomfort. I understand the topic of admitting to using methamphetamine and cigarettes is very embarrassing, but would you rather a doctor give you a funny look followed by a lecture or possibly suffer a painful death?

Ya get all kind of strange effects from different drugs....nobody can tell you exactly what it is...see a doctor if it persists, but we've all had a lot of strange side-effects from using...If it's localized pain with no other symptoms, it might not be an emergency, but get it checked out if it persists just to be sure

Hi Gatmasta

The doc once told me that there are no nerve-endings in the lungs, so you can't feel pain in them.

Definitely ask the doc asap, but don't panic at this stage. Chest pain can come from loads of things. If you've been snorting, the repeated sniffing may be causing muscular pain in your chest. That happened to me in 2010 with meph.

More recently, I've had back trouble and even this has caused chest pain.

A few years ago, I suffered from a digestive disorder and this caused it too.

All of the above instances included right-hand side pain similar to how yours sounds.

Of course, you have to rule out heart and lung issues so again, visiting doc very important.

Best of luck with it.

Hi Gatmasta

The doc once told me that there are no nerve-endings in the lungs, so you can't feel pain in them.

What your doctor probably meant is that the interior lining of the lungs contains very few pain receptors. However, the outer lining and the surrounding tissues can feel pain. Pain in the area of the lung(s) may be related to the lung(s) or to any of a number of other issues elsewhere in the chest area. Really impossible to know over the internet, as you said it could be due to many different things, some worrisome, some not. If it doesn't improve quickly I really hope Phat Gatmasta sees a doctor :)

Thanks Dancer - That's probably what the doc said as well and I have mis-remembered. I should have qualified my statement really, so apologies for that. My main intention was to allay any immediate major concerns as they are a long way off at this point - but yes, all agreed the doctor should be seen immediately for safety.

if you felt a tight, sharp pain in your chest, that is angina pectoris, which is a lack of blood/oxygen supply to your heart. It is a common side effect of stimulant use, especially strong stims. like meth. It can also result from cigarette smoking. It is because your blood pressure is low as a result of the meth comedown. Coffee may have actually gotten rid of it. If it gets worse, you should discontinue stimulant abuse.

Will you let us know what the Doc said? I think it will help us if we experience something similar.
He will need to know about the drug use to ensure a proper diagnosis! There is no need to hide this from him FYI.

You could also describe the pain and exactly where and how it felt and we might be able to assist further.

Some pains I have identified in the past:

1. Sharp stabbing pain that comes and goes very fast or instantly using resulting in a deep intake of breath could be related to lungs or a chest infection
2. Somewhat dull and itchy chest pain on the right side could be liver related and can sometimes come with an itch on the right knee as well
3. Burning pain in middle of chest is usually stomach or heart burn
