Women in porn... What do you think?

Thanks I really really hope so...its been 7 years, Im gonna be an old lady & theyll be coming out with these stupid videos claiming thier "new" which is totally false advertising. If I was smarter & alot lesz naive I wouldve demanded royalties, then mb itd be kinda worth it lol but I doubt it!!

I'm not sure why people think that you make a lot of money if you're in porn? You don't.

Yes there's Jenna Jameson but she's her own brand and 98% of the people who are in porn do not make anything close to what she makes or has made over the decades. Most people in porn who make money make more money not from the videos or sales of videos but by doing sex for pay on the side and charging a lot for it. The studio executives and producers are the ones who make the money from videos.

Also as jeng said porn is planned, edited, you have people saying what to do when, and just to appear on camera you have to sign documents and go through legal hurdles. Also yes porn, drugs, and sex for pay all are linked. No I have never done porn but at one time I thought about it and I talked to men who had done porn and I decided not to.

I don't agree with Andrea Dworkin so I don't think that rough sex in porn or BDSM causes people to rape or sexually assault others. Then again porn is about fantasy and it's not about real sex at all.

women in porn: what do I think?

Honestly.

I only watch porn with women in it.

I don't enjoy seeing intercourse on the screen. It turns me off.

Pornography with bondage is not for me. Pornography with pain included is not for me. It turns my stomach.

If I decide to spend some time watching porn that generally means I'm trying to work myself into a mood so I can have sex. I have to see a woman having her clitoris massaged with a hand, a tongue, a rabbit, or something along those lines. It does not have to be lesbian porn. If the man in the scene is taking every opportunity to make the woman in the scene orgasm, that is good porn. If the woman really cums and I feel from her body movement that she had a genuine orgasm during the filming, I like it. If the man does anything with his penis after the woman cums, I turn it off.

I don't know what having a penis feels like, obviously, and I just can't relate to how a man reaches orgasm or what cumming feels like for him. Therefore I am not stimulated by hetero intercourse. Watching a close up of the in and out action is boring to me and I won't watch it. Pain, real or acted out, is painful to me, and I won't watch it. Kissing is loathsome to me in porn. I won't watch it.

A woman who really gets off is what I will watch. If it means scrubbing a 20 minute movie for five minutes of a woman getting some awesome oral, that's all I want to see. If I was in desperate need, I would do porn for the money. Otherwise, I would do porn if I could experience incredible, exhausting orgasms. (Like the kind of orgasms I see women have while filming at the f*cking machine place which I believe is in San Francisco.)

What really sucks is it follows you. I did it 2005-2006, they are STILL coming out with videos that they claim are "new" but in reality they were from 7 years ago.

If your porn is still being enjoyed by an audience that has a whole cornucopia of porn they could look at, then I think you should feel good that your work still "works" you know? I understand your embarrassment and I've undergone a similar scenario. You are right, it's awful. Still, don't beat yourself up about it anymore. Think of cell phones 7 years ago. Cars. Televisions. Everything (except this shit economy) is better than it was 7 years ago, so if your porn is still being watched, then good for you for doing really good work.:)

I read some stories written by a porn producer who blatantly said that a lot of the girls they get are struggling beforehand and will do anything to make the money to pay the bills. Many of them are individuals feeding a drug habit and are unable to both feed the habit and pay rent.

Nowadays I believe the big producers can offer such a good pay (probably around 6 figures) that even a drug free woman will see it as appealing.

I would be more concerned about why you feel conflicted about watching whores be whores?

Yes, women in porn are real people with feelings, parents, and aspirations. But, at the end of the day it is just a job that many people are not brave enough to take on.

I'm sure reasons for working in the porn industry vary, but I am going to assume that if a starlet looks like she is enjoying herself then she probably is.

I feel less for women that obviously are working outside of their comfort zone for a little college tuition money. I don't feel less because I am judging their life choices, but because I just can not enjoy watching someone that is not genuinely passionate about what they are doing.

:)

Women are being degraded, taken advantage of, exploited, used etc? If you truly believe this, then by your logic, you are just as bad for watching it and fuelling the demand.

I do not deny that many women in porn certainly may come from troubled backgrounds, have substance abuse issues and so on. However, if their issues have them at the point where they are willing to compromise their morals and "degrade" themselves, then it may as well be in porn - that is their right. Better it be in pornography then as a street walker (more danger), or stealing from others. It is their body to sell, and they may do what they please with it. If a woman has unresolvable issues regarding promiscuity due to low self-esteem, abuse etc. then than having sex in a relatively safe and controlled environment whilst making $$ is certainly not the worst scenario IMO.

A lot of us use drugs to dull some pain or fill a void, BUT, a lot of us simply do it because we enjoy it or it suits us for whatever reason. Do drug users like being stereotyped? Do we always have to have been abused or troubled to use drugs as many people believe? IMO this also applies to porn. There is quick, easy cash to be made, and many women would enter the industry for that reason alone. I also fundamentally support sexual freedom for all consenting adults. Sure there are the messed up ones, but at the end of the day, they are still informed, consenting adults being paid for a role that they choose to take on. These troubled women are entering the industry for all the wrong reasons, but anyone that does anything for the wrong reasons is bound to suffer negative consequences - this is certainly not restricted to the porn industry. A lot of us work mind-numbing, soul-sucking jobs with ridiculous hours. If we were able to remove the negative social stigma of it, is pornography really all that bad in comparison to a lot of other jobs?

Why do you feel this way? Why do you feel bad for these beautiful girls in porn? What is so wrong with them being in porn?
Maybe they are in porn for the money. Easy money?
Maybe they are doing it because they enjoy it.

I don't know what your job is - but is it fair for me to say "ohhh you're a nice guy, but is his job the only way he feels useful in life? what was wrong with his childhood that made him have this job?"

And just because it looks degrading - maybe she's into it. People have different fantasies. People enjoy different things. Just because you think it's "out there" doesn't mean it really is. Some of it is faked too. You have to know this. It's not ALL real.

As long as the women in porn are in it because they want to be in - they choose to be in it - then I'm HAPPY for them. It's just a job.

I feel this way because it just seems like someone like that could do actual modeling where they don't have to take dicks in the ass to raise their pay. They get sucked in for the money, and that is something you can't argue about. I started and own a company if you were actually wondering. I have read a lot of stories post-porn of women that regret it, and I personally know 3 girls I grew up with that used to be in porn that absolutely hate themselves. They had to move away because everyone found out, and it is just a decision they were too young to make. They were stuck in a rut, and they didn't WANT to do porn, but selling their bodies was all they had. Sure, the law states at 18 years of age you are an adult. When I look back at being 18, I cannot even begin to explain how NAIVE I was, and all the poor decisions I made that I regret and would change in an instance.

Another thing, porn does tear away reality from fantasy. Men do expect more in the bedroom. They expect women to act out these roles, be as promiscuous and do acts that are pretty filthy. Sure, some women love it, but for the most part women are pretty reserved. Of course, we are going to find women in our society that love doing this. They grew up wanting to be pornstars, believe me. Watch Howard in Demand, these girls LOVE porn. They love sex, why not get paid for it? Of course. Like everything else though, you are right. There are shitty jobs people get stuck in they never wanted for money. It is difficult, but sometimes I just look at how cute these girls are and wonder, what went wrong?

They get sucked in for the money, and that is something you can't argue about.

Sure, but how many CEOs and high profile professionals have sacrificed family life, privacy etc. for the exact same reasons?

It is difficult, but sometimes I just look at how cute these girls are and wonder, what went wrong?

But you can see what went wrong with less attractive people in the same position? I can't see what being "cute" has to do with it...

Men do expect more in the bedroom.

What men are you talking about? What studies indicate that this is even remotely true? Men expect more of what exactly? If men want more, then what is the normal amount?

They expect women to act out these roles, be as promiscuous and do acts that are pretty filthy.

Who is being promiscuous? Promiscuous has a very negative connotation and undertones of judgement. But saying they "do acts that are pretty filthy" is overtly judgmental. All you have told us so far is how you think, not why people do porn.

Sure, some women love it, but for the most part women are pretty reserved.

For the most part women are pretty reserved. 8) That is, at best, an uninformed opinion. You believe that only some women love sex, but that most women are reserved. Reserved, adjective: avoiding familiarity or intimacy with others.

Of course, we are going to find women in our society that love doing this. They grew up wanting to be pornstars, believe me. Watch Howard in Demand, these girls LOVE porn.

I have to believe by this point in the post that you are being ironic or sardonic. Is this "Howard" Howard Stern? He is an entertainer. He has great entertaining credentials. He is not intellectually informative, or informed.

They love sex, why not get paid for it? Of course. Like everything else though, you are right. There are shitty jobs people get stuck in they never wanted for money. It is difficult, but sometimes I just look at how cute these girls are and wonder, what went wrong?

If anyone loves doing anything and can find anyone to pay them, good for them. This economy sucks dick and work is not easy to come by.

Your final point being that you look at porn, you think the girls are cute, and you "wonder what went wrong" in other words, you are concerned for their well-being, their futures, their souls. That's admirable of you, to feel such strong empathy for cute girls in porn and wish they were doing something "better".

Define better. In fact, what would be best?

This subject hit REALLY close to home. I did porn for about a year and a half. The reason why:plain & simple DRUGS. I was never abused but I do feel like I was taken advantage of. What really sucks is it follows you. I did it 2005-2006, they are STILL ciming out with videos that they claim are "new" but in reality they were from 7 years ago. I cant speak for every women who has done porn I can only speak for myself. My agent gave me a false sence of security by having a "stage name." Total bs people can still find you by your real name which obviously has caused major barriers inmy relationship. I wish he wouldnt look it up but he does & every time they put out a fucking "new"(old) movie it creates a fight.
Its all an act....i hated doing it so bad but the money was just too good(feeling special bc they fly u out to cali, bri g you shopping,go to the best parties/clubs. Noone put a gun to my head but I was young & addicted to OCs which my agent knew. It makes me sick to think theyre still making money off me but I got a one time fee. Eventually I just couldnt do it anymore bc i hated it so much.
My first movie i started actually crying in the middle of the scene. Obviously it was my desicion but at the time I didnt realize it would follow me around....forever. i admit i was nieve but they prey on young naive girls usually w a addiction.

I'm so glad you decided to speak up in this thread. Thank you.

Someone very close to me was in the sex industry for about 10 years or so. First she did the webcam thing in the 90's when it was still new and profitable, the movies, then she did body massage, and then later turned to full on street prostitution (when they discarded her for being older, and she put it). A lot of what you say reflects her experiences that she relayed to me over the years. I was one of her confidents, her family didn't even know what she was involved in. I met a lot of her co-workers too and more than half of them were addicts. They were being paid sick money but came from rough backgrounds, so when you put those two together addiction is often the result. The partying was constant.

The woman I knew was also an addict, mostly to coke. She had a sick apartment with all the bells and whistles, they flew her all over the place, and they paid her a lot of money. Part of me was envious, but she showed me the darker side of her industry. Sometimes we would log onto the webcam site from her home and she would pretend to be a paying customer. Her and her co-workers always did this to jokingly fuck with one another. But she would point out to me who was high on set. The webcam folks worked long hours. Some of the people I met in person were runaways. My friend said a lot of young men and women would become personally involved with the management of those porn companies and then end up suffering abuse. It was not uncommon.

I know the industry is more regulated now but I don't doubt for a second that it preys on vulnerable people; and once they've captured your face the product is theirs forever, no matter what you do. I don't think most viewers really stop to consider or investigate just what goes into making their jackoff material.

The really fucked up part about porn is you dont really make that much money for a video. Yah $1000 for 1/2hour is great but really you want to be in porn so u can escort & charge alot more $ for it. Like if they see u in a movie theyll be willing to pay $400 an hour somtimes wo having sex. Theyll hire you for a night & get $3000. But the more money you make from escorting means a higher class of clients. But its an evil evil cycle. I hate being judged for it & i hope noone on here would make judgments on me bc i decided to share somthing that people look down on. Im just trying to share my story. And no not every women likes it...its ACTING. Im sure theres a few that actually enjoy it but how can u enjoy it when the producer or director is stopping u every couple mins to tell you somthing else to do or hiw to look

I got a few favorites: sasha grey, stormy, jenna haze, belladonna, katie Morgan, and katja kassin.
personally most of the starlettes want to do the job. if you listen to a lot of them in interviews they are rather intelligent people who are competent and know what they're doing. there is a demand so they help with the supply. simple economics.

the point of the subjects in porn, is they are mainly fantasy.

Just because you see a women being degraded, dosent mean you are going to do it.
People watch it, because they fantasize about things they will never do.

Just like if you watch a movie about bank robberies, you live vicariously through it. it does not mean you are going to see it then go hold up a bank.

after watching the movie "the town" with Ben affleck and Jeremy renner I wanted to do a heist so badly lol. I've kinda brought the porn fantasies into the bedroom in my sexual journey. one chick actually out did me! held me down telling me to choke her, call her a dirty whore, and make her my slut. told me to spit on, bite her clit, etc. major turn on for me.

Rule 34 has always existed on the internet. Just because the majority of porn out there depicts depravity or a perceived power imbalance doesn't mean there doesn't exist porn that empowers and celebrates women. You may just have to be a little more choosy than what google spews out as "free porn".

Well, that escalated, didn't it?

First of all I think some of us are talking about porn while others talk about porn. Same words, but can mean different things, can we agree on that at least? That some porn producers are doing their thing and not degrading or using anyone in the process and I think the end result can be totally different from cheap porn movies shot with a hand cam in cheap motels...

And of course there is everything in between.

I don't get why people are so serious about sex in general. Jen, If I had a girlfriend who has done porn in past? IT WOULD ROCK. If he can't handle the fact that you have that kind of past he shouldn't be in a relationship with you at all. He needs to start dealing with it. And you should start unregretting. I will share my elaborate theories about that in private:)

And I want to add one of my favorite male porn stars is one of the most funny guys online I follow. The stuff he does on the screen? ACTING. A job. The one he enjoys.

my problem with porn is that most of it is nasty disgusting things that makes me vomit and other one is that most girls are ugly as fuck, awful make up,shitty fake boobs, frankestien body...

IF YOU WANNA BE PORN STAR LOOK INTO MIRROR FIRST FFS!!!
