Hey all,
Had to post about this looking for advice. A couple months ago I quit a 3 year suboxone habit. However, I've been "chipping" about once a week ever since on subs/opiates. My last relapse was 2 weeks ago, but I've used high dose loperamide to help me out here and there.

I'm trying to quit for the long term and have disconnected myself from my connections. BUT the excessive yawning/eye watering and stretching to the point that my muscles tremble is gettin soooo annoying. I also feel like I have no energy and could probably sleep for 12 hours a day if I didn't work. To me these seem like PAWS symptoms but maybe I'm wrong. These symptoms are the biggest reason why I've been using here and there the past 2 months. I just hate these annoying WD symptoms.

Does anyone have experience with solutions to the yawning, watery eyes,
Stretching, and fatigue? I know there's other posts about this, but I was interested in the yawning and stretching in particular (which doesn't seem to be written about here). I have access to some benzos which help, but with all my fatigue it seems like they only make me more tired.

Thanks TDS

Edit***it should be noted that I'm trying to get through the last of these minor withdrawal symptoms so I can permanently stay off the stuff. I'm not trying to make it to my next dose or anything.

That used to happen to me all the time. Even worse, when I took seroquel to help with withdrawals. The stretching made my muscles feel so much weaker like oxygen was needed or something. Keep taking the loperamide to help you from feeling sick. I would only use the benzos as a last resort you know if you are unable to get or stay asleep.

I ended up using lower doses of kratom for that. I'm two months out of the medical detox and I still sometimes get those. It can be an empty feeling after that stretch to, but that's all they are. It's just time that needs to tick with nothing. Kratom did help and I never got hooked on that. Be careful of that addiction though. K saved me quite a few times - i ripped thru a script of norcos first week out of the hospital which sucked for my morale, sounds like youre doing similar things. those secondary withdrawals can get ya right back in the game. i hate to say try something else, but i did low doses of kratom to where i didnt feel it but it got rid of the symptoms and after a couple of weeks those low doses became higher one much more spaced out to now being not much at all. two month span here... My $.02.

So you guys are suggestion doing something like a lope taper or Keaton to get through this? IMO I've already tried that and find it just delays withdrawals, but who knows.

And to whose name do you refer? Mine's not too cool so I doubt it's me

yeah i'm talking to you lol; pink cloud refers to that time in recovery where you feel better and end up relapsing, it's a great name for reminding people to keep mental stock during recovery. I wish i would have stolen it for a band name.

go kratom to lope to taper, much easier does delay withdrawals but makes it easier in the end, take a couple months and taper

look, if the withdrawal symptom has a clear cause, i.e restlessness from overactive nerve function solved with muscle relaxants, its easy to find something to help.

but in the case of yawning and tearing up, i think the only thing to stop that would be to take an opiate, which i assume you don't want to do. perhaps a bit of codeine?

i know what you mean, i HATE it. i'd be in a lecture, yawning literally every minute, big, back-cracking yawns which tear me up something fierce. i literally cry probably 5mls per yawn.

where the fuck does all that liquid come from? its like a perpetual tear-making device.

Haha thanks for the compliment. I made this account when I was early in recovery and that was one of the big things they talked about, the "pink cloud" effect.

And I appreciate the advice about the kratom to the lope, but I'm really trying to get over this withdrawal--rather than prolong the inevitable. I think that the advice robotripping gave could be of some use. Maybe I'll try some REALLY LOW dose antihistimine, preferably one that isn't sedating. That would most certainly help with the watery eyes.

I guess this thread is kind of pointless in some ways; I mean, there's not much advice that people can give regarding fixing opiate withdrawal symptoms like that. I guess I was just hoping that someone had some magic cure for some of the PAWS withdrawals I've been having haha.
On a positive note I started back on vyvanse, so that'll help with my fatigue and generally apathy for life. Thanks for the support guys.

I've never been addicted to opiates so I've never experienced this kind of withdrawal specifically, but less severe versions of these things (excessive yawning & stretching) has happened to me when coming down from opiate use. Way back when the old style ocs were still around, they used to do it big time... very annoying. I know you said you don't want to be fatigued, but sleep was the only thing that used to help me, and the benzos helped with that. When I woke up I felt better, and lots of times I couldnt (still cant) go to sleep without them. Good luck to you, glad you are trying to get better.
