Hey bluelight. im currently stuck in a postion where i really want to do a shot of some really fire skag but i currently have a fucking headache. now when i smoke weed with a headache it doesn't do anything but make it worse. ive already taken 2 ibprofins and and that doesn't seem to do much. do the shot or wiat it out? i tried to search and nothing came up. thanks!

Apparently, opiates tend to make headaches and migraines worse, I thought the opposite but was quickly corrected on these forums.

Most headaches are caused by threshold dehydration, so make sure you're getting enough sugar-free fluids (water FTW). You can take 325-650mg of APAP on top of your 400mg (if otc) ibuprofen, personally I've found APAP to be awesome for headaches compared to ibu.

I might be stating the obvious here, but why waste your "really fire skag" during a time that you're plagued with a nasty headache? Have a full, balanced meal, drink some water, get some sleep, and make the most of your heroin next morning. :)

Idk sometimes in light and I mean the slightest start of withdrawals cause a headache for me that instantly disappears when my dose kicks in.

I had a killer migraine accompanied by nausea while at work last week (wasn't dopesick) and I copped and got myself good and it worked wonders for me. 5 minutes after the rush, I felt perfectly fine.

If opiates/iods make a headache worst, migraines especially why do they give you IV hydromorphone/morphine in the hospital relatively fast if it's bad enough. It always took my headache away...but on the other side imitrex and fioricet work great for headaches

while i dont shoot my heroin, i sniff it (<3 northeast powder), i find that it is a godsend for my migraines.

i was diagnosed with migraines when i was a kid and get crippling migraines frequently. the best thing i've ever discovered was the combination of sumatriptan (imitrex/treximet/etc which are prescribed for migraines), caffeine, cannabis, and dilaudid/opana/heroin. the higher strength of the opiate the better

the only downside is that the nausea is sometimes alot worse, but if you have weed it works wonders.

I don't do heroin but sometimes when I take roxi's or tabs it feels like they actually give me a headache. Not sure why and it isn't every time or even most times. When it happens it's not that severe. I just take some ibuprofen and it usually goes away.

You're joking, right?

Opiates are "Pain-killers". They are also typically used to help ignore or not deal with major problems of certain aspects (or total being) of ones life.

Head-ache:

Noun:

1) A continuous pain in the head.
2) A thing or person that causes worry or trouble; a problem.

It could help the headache, it could do nothing for it, or it could make it worse.

I've found opioids to do all three.

I personally find acetaminophen to do the trick for the roughest of my headaches/migraines. So when I get a headache or migraine when I want to take opioids I take some Tylenol and it does the job. I don't know what works for your headaches so I don't know if you should dose it while having a headache. If you are worried it may do nothing for the headache or make it worse, I'd avoid taking it because why waste a good time when you are feeling like shit and it wont help. Wait till you feel great and have a great time if this is the case.

opiates can give me headaches sometimes, although ive never got that with heroin, only oxycodone and tramadol

APAP will sort that out though so if youre worried just take a Tylenol/paracetemol like 30min before you dose

It really depends on the type of headache you have, and a bunch of other factors. Heroin can cause headaches, as well as other opiates, but I think that is largely in part due to dehydration. When I get migraines shooting dope is one of the only things that helps... but sometimes it only helps for a little bit. The best thing to help migraines is sleep and water. For me the dope will get me to be able to sleep long enough that the migraine dissipates naturally.

^odd, i find oxycodone to be quite pleasant. i enjoy tramadol as well, but i can understand how others might find it unpleasant, the only problem i have with it is that its just really weak. although it seems with opiates, different people seem to react to certain opioids VERY differently, e.g. while some people get super high off of vicodin, someone else with the same tolerance will get merely a mild buzz, etc., so your opinion of oxycodone as an unpleasant opioid makes sense.

If I have a pre-existing headache I generally find opioids to help, even if sometimes it might only be because they make me care less about the headache. But I've also found opioids to cause headaches at times when I didn't already have one. Maybe this is why there is dispute about whether opioids are good or bad for a headache?

They do sometimes give opioids to people with severe migraines, especially in an acute emergency setting. For normal use other meds are considered more safe and effective.
