Your Favourite Fruit!

good apples, mangos, watermelon, oranges, pears, peaches, mandarines, loquats

I've become a big fan of kiwis. I read that kiwis have more vitamin C than oranges! (I don't like oranges.) More importantly, kiwis have a low amount of sugar, a high amount of fiber, and run from .10 to .33 cent per piece. Can't beat that with a stick!

fresh or dried? we only get the dried ones here, you have to get the ones with the pit still in them, they're more addicting than crack. the ones that are prepitted usually are dried out and stale.

I recently discovered dates. I'm totally not buying a bag of those again, but goddamn are they ever delicious. I never had trouble eating one potato chip and walking away, but these...
I was shocked when I found out just 2 or 3 ("Medjool") dates have nearly 100 calories. 8o

So delicious though. :D

I believe dates can be a dangerous fruit. I loved them for a summer before I realized I loved them too much. Great in recipes, but less is more. Too much sugar.

People have the belief that if the sugar is in fruit it is not harmful, but that is not entirely true. Dried fruit, for example, has its calories highly concentrated in sugar. Because sugar is so pleasureful and potentially addicting, this can lead to overeating. There is not much fiber to slow down the absorption of that sugar into your blood stream, so if you eat them without accompaniment, you can spike your blood sugar levels.

It really isn't a big deal, but I am admittedly fanatical about what I eat. I used to unknowingly dump the sweetest fruits in my morning bowl of oatmeal -- dates, bananas and dried cranberries, most notably -- but now I only have one sweet fruit out of five.

^You have similar taste-buds to me. :)

Fresh, sweet pineapple makes me drool. And strawberries are amaze. As are white peaches, and seedless grapes - red or green. I'll take either. :)

I like bananas but I'm super picky about how ripe they should be. When they're all mushy and brown they aren't so great but when they arent ripe enough they're equally bad.

I had a floury banana incident recently. Turned me off them for the time being. I know I'll go back to them like an old lover, but DAMN a floury banana is a nasty thing. :(

Mango is my favorite fruit as well as mangosteen, apple and banana. But only bananas are always available in our home, my father always buy them, I could consider it because mangosteen and mangoes are seasonal fruits.
