I know MD gets a bad rap. Red wine in general is notorious for causing terrible hangovers. I notice however that MD not only gets me where I want to go, but there is virtually no hangover for me the next morning. I don't know if this stuff just happens to agree with me, or what. Just curious to others reaction to this "fine" wine.

Maybe it's just you. I certainly can't drink it. But even high-quality red wines give me a headache and a hangover. Not sure if this belongs in BDD though, it isn't really a specific or harm reduction related question.

Is it the 18% stuff or the 13%?

I presume that the higher alcohol content one is a fortified wine (like brandy for example), which might explain its subjective effects just through a different chemical balance, but I haven't the slightest to be honest. We don't have MD 20/20 where I live (or Thunderbird or any of the other kind of infamous US wines for that matter).

mad dog 20/20 is completely low quality rot gut.

Yeah, it's like that. MD20/20 is not a fine wine.

Nowadays I just cook with red and white wine, and even sometimes Marsala wine. :)

I used to like Pinot Noir by Pinot Evil. It was on sale in large quantities, not expensive for an imported wine, and drinking a glass or two with a meal was nice. The key was to let it breathe for a bit since this would bring out the flavors.

I've never had a hangover from wine not even when I'd drink sake.
