hey i think this is the right place to post this..if not lemme know..

but i have court tomorrow for truancy (Missing school too much)

and idk theyre going to drug test me? i mean if they are theres not much i can do about it, but id just like to know ahead of time in case.

ive been suspected of using drugs in school before, and its kinda known around school i have a problem, but can they drug test me if its not a drug related charge thats bringing me to court?

open to anyone who has experiences or thinks they know..just dont wanna get blind sided tomorrow and end up in lockup or somethin. THANKS %)

In alot of places your parents can get in trouble. My son was in 9th grade last year when he blew off school for 2 solid weeks. I had no idea since he would get up and pretend to go to the busstop. Then hung out smoking weed with his friend who dropped out.

So how did it go today?

man..i got lucky. the judge said i had missed 27 out of 34 days of school so far this year, one of the worst cases he had seen... and we came to an agreement that he would drop the charges if i promised i would go to school until my birthday (november 4) without missing a single day, and if i failed to do that, he would place me in foster care or a juvenile detention center. i think he let me off so easy, because i turn 17 so soon, and legally i could dropout.. so it wasnt like i was 14 skipping that much. But these next few weeks i gotta get on that school grind haha :)

and thanks herbavore <3

And T Calderone, that sucks man...did you end up getting in any trouble for that? when i went to court today, the first thing out of my mouth was that my parents would try their hardest to get me to go but i was defiant, cause the last thing im gonna do is let them take the fall for me being a dumb ass.

He got sent to an alterantive school because of weed smoking got him expelled for a year. Long story bro. pm'g you

Glad to hear that you got lucky. Here's what you need to do. You need to go to school and try and develop a crush on a girl there. Or a guy. Or a teacher 8o. But you need something to make you want to go to school, if academics isn't motivation enough. November 4th isn't too long away, I think you can easily accomplish this goal.

P.S. I cannot believe that username remained available until 2012.

and ik..on a drug forum you think itd be picked already? idk lol

Go to college! Most community colleges have programs where high school students are allowed to start taking classes while they are still in high school... you sound like a smart kid from most of your posts...not everyone fits into the high school dynamic. Don't give up on learning! I loved college so much l still go take at least one class every semester, and lm 33! Pick some classes that interest you, research professors, and you will love it! Maybe you could start with Eastern Philosophy!

thank you, yeah man thats a good idea. actually why im dropping out, is because im getting my G.E.D and then joining the Army. Ive gotten into some trouble while in highschool, and im afraid if i end up getting in any more trouble, that the army would deny me. so as soon as i get my G.E.D, i have to wait 6 months after dropping out, then i can join. And whats eastern philosophy? is that a class your taking?

Be careful the Army is curently being much more selective about taking people with GEDs. I know my buddy had to score higher on the ASVAB to get in with his GED then he would have if he had stuck it out and graduated.

yeah i already went the the recruiting station, without a highschool education you need to score at least a 50, with a highschool education like a 40, and i scored somewhere in the 60's =D which made me very happy, cause when you walk in, they say "Oh your a dropout? well theres not much availability here for people who have chosen that path.." they think your either a dumb ass, or have issues with other people.. not always the case..their attitude changed very quicly when they saw my score, which made me feel pretty good to prove that stereotype wrong.. Its been my dream to enlist, and ill be damned if i dont get in..maybe having all my eggs in the same basket isnt a safe option, but im determined.

i wanted the marines originally, but they ONLY accept highschool education at this time. Armys the only one that supports my situation.

please don't drop out, if you haven't yet, i thought the EXACT SAME thing as you, i was gonna wait till i was 16, drop out, get my GED and join the airforce, well, i just got my GED, and now im finding out there might be some little BS problem that could prevent me from joining, and then what? the army will be good for 3-4 years, but then when i get out. what then? the army isn't going to look after you after enlisting when you get out as well as the marines, AF or Navy, and they don't have good training programs, so even when your out you won't be able to get a great job. so what am i gonna do now? i was thinking just like you 2-3 years ago, but you'll learn awfully fuckin fast that you shouldn't have dropped out, but if your like me, you won't figure this out until you do it.

this is not the kind of economy you want to be coming into as an adult without at least highschool diploma, it's not like it was 30 years ago, theres no construction business, and thats basicly the only good paying work your gonna get without highschool diploma/college

and the only reason the army supports your decision is because they want to recruit you! thos

hope for the best, but expect Unger worst my friend.

go to court well prepared to beat a test. i'm sure you can find info on that all over the internet.

best of luck!
