Does anyone else notice that they don't mesh that well? I'm talking about real, concerted meditation not just relaxing or breathing or whatnot.

If you don't mean relaxing, breathing, and clearing your mind, then I'm not sure what you mean by "real meditation". Like, active visualization?

from my years and years of Buddist and Hindu meditation training, it's more an absence of thought then a state of mind, achieved through mantra dissipation. I have always found it harder to obtain this absence of all thought while stoned, yes. It is much easier for me to become relaxed and enter a zen-ish meditative state while lit, though, but for what I think you are speaking of, sober is the best route.

Don't kid yourself, cannabis will diminish your ability to perform just about any task that requires concentration and mindfulness. That's the whole point of getting stoned.

I vape my weed, first at 185°C, then at 205°C. Mostly during psychedelic experiments, for enhancement.

What is leftover is herb without THC, but with lots of CBD left. This allows me to shut down thoughts if I vape it at 226°C.

They can mix quite well.

At least for me when I was using I would easily get into meditative states on a nice Indica.

In highschool I remember smoking some mids with friends and a girl from our class came by and smoked some and I taught her how to meditate and it worked for both of us.

Agreed. That post is flat out wrong. I'm a stoned engineer, morning 'til night. Everything I need to get done, gets done very baked.

By the way I find weed excellent for the form of meditation I use which is yin yoga. It slows time down, rendering the transcendence of space and time more worthwhile and necessary, and also clears my mind of any distractions related to my life. If I take too much sativa my body can get a little tense, and it can be tough to transmute that energy but overall it is highly useful and I hear the use of hashish among wise men in India is fairly widespread and accepted.

It doesn't go together well, maybe if your mildy stoned but when you have a good high going It is very hard to meditate. Weed makes it so thoughts are scattered in your head, where you don't have much control of them Imo. So when you want to turn them off it makes it harder to do that as well. I also agree with Roger, weed makes you more productive in a very very small amount of things. You guys smoking everyday are just defending your drug of choice. But i don't blame you i was the same.

If you choose to meditate on marijuana you want to smoke sativa, and only 1-5 hits depending on tolerance. Keep on mind you want to be clear minded not stoned.

Meditating and using marijuana don't really go together for me. I usually do one or the other. I find that when I'm high I am able to slow down my thoughts but I am still thinking about things. Meditation helps me free my mind of thoughts and reach a state of having little to no thought and simply "being". I don't really know how to explain it, but for me they don't work well together.

I don't find weed conducive to meditation. It's too stimulating. When I'm high I like to be fluid and creative. Meditation is sort of a turning off of mind so I don't see the point of getting high and then trying to disengage. You could do it without the drugs.

They don't really mesh because cannabis arrests your perception in a lower state than what can be achieved through concentrated meditation. Cheers.

As I understand it (on a basic level) Cannabis sends the user on a wild thought train while meditation just looks for what's there.
