Wow there's a blast from my past, I'm embarrassed to say I've seen SLF live :o

More vintage brass neck stuff :D

The Skids - Into The Valley
THE RUTS - BABYLONS BURNING
Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In Love

Why be embarrassed ? I'm proud to say I've seen them live ;-)

(Definately the loudest band ive ever seen live, my ears were ringing for days afterwards. They had 'The Men You couldnt Hang' as one of the support acts. They were so loud it hurt your ears).

I see you like a bit of 'first generation punk ' stuff too.

I consider it 2nd trench punk movement tbh. Was too young to be there at the beginning but was part of the generation who brought it into the normal youth psych of things with the promotion of god save the queen, the clash, buzzcocks, the pogo, graffiti things, anarchy campaigns and home produced news mags, poetry, jammin', demonstration sit ins, getting arrested at faslane, flunking art school, wearing safety pin piercings, plastic jackets, glued Mohawkian hair and ripped trews n' fishnets, docs, braless string vests :o

Not many people know that about me lol....spilled it all now haha.

You?

Listening to Abba ;) how times a change...

Dancing Queen

I was born ten years too late too be into punk at the time it was happening 77-79. First time i heard it though i knew i liked it, and still do, to this day.

Never really dressed like a punk, and when i cared about my 'image' as you do more in your late teens, i was a kind of Jesus and Mary Chain/ Ian MuCulloch, Robert Smith type indie-kid scruff clone around 1985 - 1989. (People used to tell me i looked the spitting image of Ian Mac, and it wasnt just the hair thing either)

I aways liked the look punk girls had though. As i do the goth chicks.

So you were the first "scene kid steetster"...must let our Sam know haha(he'd prob kill me for saying that) :D Goth in those days were the metal folk, who evolved into the goth scene. The tribes were all a lot easier to recognise back then...

Went to see Echo and the Bunnyman a bit back there, bit retro return to youth gig - Ian MuCulloch was a fucking bastard, slagging the audience off, pished, out his face, throwing stuff = good to know some things don't change :)

I had you down as 15 btw 8(

Buzzcocks - Spiral Scratch

I still have this ep vynal lol

Embarassed by Stiff Little Fingers? I'm glad they are the first band I ever went to see live (unless you count their support act, 999).

I would, however, hang my head in shame and never darken this thread again if I joyfully posted Richard Ugly Jobson and that shite Skids record.

I'm just a bit coy about being so old SHM and seeing all those ole band lol...as the kids would say.

I seen the Clash at the Magnum, Irvine 1982 I'll have you know and thought I was the bees knees :D....dont like to mention being 13 and seeing Bob Marley at the same venue in '79 ..no wonder i turned out such a stonner :o

Bob Marley - I Shot The Sheriff

confused punk hippy i was 8)...still am

Snap. Only I rocked that look in '99. And 2009. And am still doing so (albeit toned down just a little) in 2012. Sad or inspiring? Hmmm.

I'm going to go against the grain and post some pretty-pretty music again. Don't laugh. This is for somebody who made my weekend just that bit more sparkly:

Joni Mitchell - The Gallery

Nice to meet you, even though you're not reading this. Take care.

This is one of the catchy songs from early PUNK. Once i listen to this song it stays in my head for weeks!!! This song takes a while to grow on some people, but most people end up loving it!!! Its just so bloody catchy!!!! Love it!!!! :)

SPIZZENERGI is still gigging, although this was his best song by far!!!

The Damned song 'New Rose' was the very first PUNK single ever released, and what a song!!! The Damned were not the first ever PUNK band, but they were the first PUNK band to release anything, so that makes this song very special!!! Its were it all started. This song really stood the test of time! The Damned went on to realise some rubbish, but they had a few classics as well. 'New Rose' & 'Smash it Up' are my two favourites! But i'm sharing 'New Rose' coz of its history. Good night all!!! :)
