Hey I was just wondering wether or not ginkgo biloba would potentiate magic mushrooms since it's a partial maoi.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8614288In a preliminary unpublished study (n=1), we have observed 30 to 50% inhibition of human platelet
MAO-B at 1 and 3 hours following the ingestion of 4 Ginkgold capsules. In the same individual,
platelet MAO-B was inhibited by 29% at 1 hr after drinking the aqueous extract from 2 g of dried
Ginkgo leaves. However, these experiments indicate only that MAO inhibitory components of
Ginkgo are available to platelets, and it is not certain that the reversible inhibition observed in the
present study will translate into inhibition of MAO in brains of humans at doses of Ginkgo normally
used. A recent pharmaco-dynamic study (17) in which Ginkgold was administered to 12 human
volunteers indicated that, over an oral dose range of 40 to 240 mg of Ginkgo extract,
bioavailability in brain was sufficient to produce an electrophysiological effect similar to that of
certain other compounds that are classified as cognitive activators, antidepressants, or anxiolytics....
I've read stories of people mixing Syrian Rue (which contains Harmaline, a relatively strong MAOI) and LSD in order to increase the effect of their last - weak - hit and end up in the hospital or have seizures.
I have been experiencing body discomfort while tripping lately. Sometimes it is worse than others. I try to stay hydrated with water, and celtic salt before, during and after. But sometimes it still persists. I have just been noticing it lately. My blood pressure is normal. Can you enlighten me on this? Thanks^glad it didn't have any bad interactions for you. I could see less vasoconstriction or body discomfort making a trip much, much more enjoyable.
Is Ginkgo placebo, the acute effect s are ime. Never noticed any thing from Vinpocetine and in a way it kinda resembles it. Never noticed anything before/ during/ after. It isn't as simple as that tho prappa - when your brain is being assaulted by a ferociously overwhelming psychedelic like psilocybin are you really going to notice the ginkgo? Won't it be like trying to notice a piss in the sea? You might notice a placebo effect if you're thinking about it tho.
In regards to the Ginko if it is the real stuff... that is cool because it is a tree. I could see possibly taking on some of the wisdom of the tree when taking it together. That sucks about the nose bleeds! Look I just look up a natural cure for nose bleeds and I saw this...r doctor.) Even natural substances such as ginkgo, policosanol, high-dose vitamin E, and garlic may increase the tendency to bleed. Is Ginkgo placebo, the acute effect s are ime. But like Vincopetine had no effect s and no side effect s. Ginkgo had a side effect.
A worrying one, does that imply that it doesn t work and only has side effect s.
Or did it overshadow the cognition enhancing effect. Could also be the case.
"Some G. biloba trees have survived extreme events
like the Hiroshima atomic bomb and others showcasing extreme longevity
"the largest living trees are estimated to exceed 3,500 years."
Special tree and i am obsessed with old and tough tree s.
What the reason is i still trying to figure out but it gave me nose bleed s,
consequently. Something i am prone too. The blood vessel s are protected by a thin layer of skin. Ain t got no Elephant skin, a few mm. at best less in my nose.
A good dive and i coloured the swimming pool red, during swim lessons.
This is about what i can find concernin my nose bleed s. I wonder if it s making my blood thinner. More the Alcohol at least as that wont cause bleeding ?
Or maybe coincidence/ susceptible or maybe via a other path way.
I don t take it after what a few nose bleed s. And always tell people my personal experience just for safety measure s.
| Ginkgo | Certain components, particularly ginkgolides, inhibit platelet aggregation and cause bleeding by inhibiting PAF formation and binding to its receptors on platelet membranes. | Results in increased risk of bleeding with aspirin-like analgesics with antiplatelet effects |
