are there any studies on the health effects of vaporized tobacco vs smoked tobacco? i'd guess that it'd be safer (like with mj), but a quick google search turned up no definitive answer. if there aren't any studies, can someone who has a more detailed understanding than i of the physics/chemistry make an educated guess?

i have maybe a couple cigarettes every couple weeks when drinking with friends, but lately i've started sometimes mixing in a pinch of tobacco when packing a bowl, whether smoked or vaporized. wondering how much harm (if any) is being eliminated in the vaporization scenario.

One thing tobacco is better at than most other plants is absorbing and concentrating radioactive elements.Maybe vaporization allows the nicotine to liberate itself?

It's probably quite a bit safer - less heat, less nitrosamine formation, better nicotine to tar ratio, less aerosolized particulate.

One could just vaporize the liquid sold to load up ecigs. It's a far cheaper and cleaner option, but undoubtedly produces different effects than the combustion or vaporization of tobacco.

thanks everyone.

eventually, i'd like to largely/mostly be using e-cigs. one for nicotine, one for thc (and whatever other cannabinoids get extracted). need to figure out a good brand for hacking for the latter (suggestions welcome). the purpose built portable vaporizers are less inconspicuous than i'd like (i.e. i want something that looks like a regular e-cig).

the other cannabinoid in weed is CBD. however, vaping weed does not administer CBD, rather you receive a high that is purely from THC which many find 'different' from traditional smoking methods.

You definitely get CBD and many other Cannabinoids in your vapor, or else what would the point be? Pure THC is no fun ime.
