Were I live, this plant grows wild and flowers bloom during the night giving a strong scented odor to it.
Just by smelling the flowers, will this have an effect such as hallucinations, rapid heart beat, delirium?

With protective gear such as gloves or using scissors to cut the flowers and the leaves, will it be OK to store this plant indoors?
I am just worried about the strong smelling scent from the flowers that can have pretty negative effects if this is true.

I am NOT intending to injest nor smoke this evil stuff, but thinking about bringing it for decorative purposes.

No way!!!!!!

I would not eat it....This stuff is worse than PCP.

But no way in hell I would eat this. And I am even way too hesitant to pick it off in the first place.
I even heard that the Scopolamine may absorb through the skin if not wearing gloves.

I think I will pass on this one.

Who told you you can get poisoned just by smelling the flowers?!? The dangers of accidental poisoning are vastly exagerrated. It's fine to use them as cut flowers. I have touched the leaves, stalks, flowers and fruit with bare hands and got no effects. There are plenty of photos on gardening sites with people touching them with bare hands. I have never heard of a case of poisoning from picking the flowers. Eating any parts of the plant is definitely not a wise idea, but many common ornamental plants are poisonous to eat. I would just wash your hands after touching them (before touching your eyes or mouth) to be on the safe side. And don't bring them in your house if you have pets or young children that might eat them. A healthy respect for this plant is good, but no need to be terrified of it :)

We have several of these all around the house as well as two daturas. I have pruned, made cuttings, replanted and smelled the flowers MANY times without gloves and never had any problems. There are many much more toxic common plants but they don't get as bad of a rep because nobody eats them. That said, Idon't think I've ever seen one indoors, and they can grow pretty large. Daturas are generally smaller. We have a couple that have all black shiny stems with dark purple flowers that is pretty evil looking but beautiful.
If you have pets you might want to think twice & do a little homework before bringing it in the house though!

Thanks for this info, but I will pass on this.

I thought Scopolamine would pass through the skin as it is sold as a Trans-dermal patch which absorbs the med through the skin.

^the patches are a modified form of scop I believe, also the design of the patch and suspension of te chem in the patch is what allows transdermal, its not normally so permeable to the skin, and its not just in pure chem form on the plants exterior. But yea prolly good call on passing

Real time 3D hallucinations as in real people and new stuff materializing into your real world and paranoia for upto three days - I heard stories from trips on theese and never really heard someone that recommended it. Usually includes hospitalization, police and lot's more.

Its free so do what you like, no idea what they cost, but they are bad! People lose their minds within the days of being influenced.

^Steingalkrs - They were just asking about picking the flowers, not eating it :)

I did not see that, however having such a plant in the living room isnt that like playing with fire? I do suspect different people have better willpower though, I stand corrected ;)
