What do you think about drug addicts in general?

Yeah, some drug addicts are useless, they would do anything for a fix. We all know that. But stop generalizing. Not everyone is like that.
I mean, first you have to define addiction. And define drugs. Caffeine is technically a drug - are you comparing all the people that can't go a day without coffee to the people that can't go a day without using heroin? Just wondering.
How about addiction? Define it. Is it someone who uses every day all the time? How about someone who uses every other day? Once a week? Where do you draw the line?
And injection - why is that so much worse? I have a friend, he's 21 years old, he makes 50,000 a year, college graduate, amazing job. He injects ketamine. Does this make him a completely useless person?
 
i didn't have time to read ALL of this thread. but i just want to add that there are people who are NOT addicts who steal, lie, & cheat as well, & actually that amount is prob higher...

i don't think that just bec someone is an addict means they are any less of a person... i agree with you on the fact that it is their own fault for becoming an addict, however a lot of addicts already have underlying mental issues beforehand.

i'm not sure why you felt there was a need for a hateful, degrading thread like this in the first place. i know, everyone has their opinions & is free to express them as they please, but seriously. what are you gaining out of this besides boosting your arrogant ego....?

I'm just going to be honest, you sound really self-righteous and hypocritical.

You go on this huge tirade against drug users, and yet you admit that you're both a user and a DEALER?

Newsflash: not all drug users are scammers and thieves.

A lot of them are very successful people.

You sound like you're making these broad judgments about EVERY drug addict, solely on the basis of your experiences with a very particular TYPE of drug addict.

You sound like you're describing the whole late teens/early twenties downtown wigger drug scene, or the parallel (but separate and distinct) early twenties urban hipster/nerd drug scene.

These groups produce a lot of really horrible and annoying drug addicts, it's true.

But there are addicts who are older and doing pretty well in their lives as well.

And they aren't just isolated extreme cases, believe it or not; they hang out with each other and have a "scene" as well.

Personally, I'm someone you might call a drug addict, but I have a very successful business, a loving family and very good prospects in life.

Would I ever steal to support my habits?

Not a chance.

And nobody I hang out with would either.

IMO if the OP is both an addict an a dealer, they're just a decorated hypocrite. I've seen lots of dealers hating on their addicted customers, what a load of crap.

i'm not so sure there's such thing as an addict. people outgrow old habits. for example i've developed a drinking problem over the past 2 1/2 months, drinking every day and today I haven't drank shit. granted i just got out of bed at 8 PM due to w/d symptoms, but I'm not drinking today. I dunno.

This thread sucks its either an addict defending or some one criticizing.

I think everyone's human and everyone has faults your don't need to be an addict to do fucked up things. Why do people feel the need to put every addict in the same category as criminals?
 
Lol I don't put much thought into people with addictions/habits. I have a few heavily addicted friends and many non-addict friends. I don't view them much differently.

I, myself, am not an addict.
 
that'll teach them for breaking the law. never woulda happened with cigarettes and alcohol :)

Edit: I have little sympathy for people who shoot drugs in general. If you're one of those who inject drugs and still live a useful life, good for you. I admire you. But I don't know anybody like that. ALL the people I know who started injecting turned their lives to rock bottom. It just changes your brain way too fast, not comparable to snorting or smoking or any other ROA. You shouldn't have tried that, again your fault.
