you should probably seek professional help, and be honest with the dr. because 10mg ativan/day is notplayinnn... i have had luck getting off ativan (2-5mg/day) 10/ is alot imo, ativan was rough to get off, you should def talk to a doctor i tired doing it alone, and it didn't work, i didnt get off properly until i was honest and disclosed everything with my dr.
goodluck, imo i would look at diazepam or clonezapam, you might use diazepam and loraz for first bit, and cut the ativan down, and use the diaz to cover lapse. depending how long you have been on this you might hgave to take it slow over a couple months or more.
and im confused bc how could u have 28mg ativan and be on 10mg a day? how dou take 10mg a day, 70 a week?
i suggest
week 1
8mg ativan 2.5-5mg diaz when you cut down at first
by the end of week one aim for 6mg of ativan and not more than 5mg diaz, you start small with diaz to be able to increase up to 5mg to combat loraz
start off at lowest dose for diaz and shift this while u cut off the loraz
by week two 5mg of ativan and 5mg of diaz is the goal
week two is when you start thinking about ditching loraz
maybe try clonezapam instead of loraz, you could start with 2mg bid (4mg) which is a good idea, and now u still use the diaz but you need to keep it stable and if you can decrease it
you should by week three not be taking loraz if you are you need to reasses the taper and discuss with a doc
week three you should take 1mg clonez in morning and 2mg at night (3mg) you should try to be taking a tiny bit of diaz and if u dont need it dont take it, you can take it every other day at night
week four is where you should be able to take .5clonez in the morning and 1mg clonez and as little diaz as possible at night (aim 2.5mgdiaz)
by the end of week five you should stop taking a morning dose and start taking only one evening dose, if needed you could try 2.5 or even 1.25 diaz in the evening only if you need.
also you might benefit from cognitive behavioural therapy or dialectical, try to deal with the underlying reason for your benzo use. my final piece of advice is do not increase your dose, as long as you keep going down eventually you will be off, also do not go back to stronger benzos once you stop them,
goodluck, keep at it and before you know it you will meet your goal.
