TDS Photo Thread Vs. Snow Day!

Thanks pastelcircus but the body confidence thing comes and goes depending on my mood.In my normal,somewhat depressed state I feel disgusting.But then I'll get an email from a photographer wanting to work with me,or get lovely comments like I have here,and decide that maybe I'm not so bad <3

yeahhh. it's still cool though, even if a five year old didn't do it. what was the name of the canvas/thing that you used?

and, missnervosa, you are obviously a beautiful person (inside and out), and have no reason not to be okay with yourself all of the time. while depressive states are hard to deal with while maintaining any sort of confidence, just try to remember that you're beautiful no matter what mood you're in.
 
^and remember that integrity, confidence and joie de vivre trump looks every time! That is accessible no matter what you are packaged in this time around folks.=D

That doodle pad of HWH's lil cousin looks like it was that scratchboard with multiple colors underneath. You scratch it off with someting sharp like a stylus and you get multicolored lines. It's a commercially produced variation on something we used to make in school as kids---maybe you did too? You color a page with all sorts of abstract shapes of heavily applied color. Then you paint india ink or black paint over it and let it dry. When it drys, you can scratch through it to reveal the colors.

An opposite thing to do that I love is to make a drawing with a black oil pastel or crayon then cover it up with really vivid watercolor. Wherever the black crayon was, it resists the paint so you get a line drawing in a painting.

And that, my friends, was your daily elementary art lesson from the TDS resident primary school art teacher LOL!

Here's a whole stage set my first graders made with crayon resist:
