I've managed to decrease my using and am cautiously approaching my detox plan which in short, involves sneaking off to a small recovery community so out of reach, drugs are virtually nonexistent. My problems seem to stem largely in part due to a lack of structure in my life.

I'm studying up on why and how I previously relapsed, and have come to the realization that whenever I relapse, I can always pinpoint that time in sobriety during which I just stopped following good habits in hygiene, recovery related program steps, socially, etc.

What are some ways to improve on structure in early recovery besides rehab? I'm giving this thing another go but won't always have someone looking over my shoulder.

No one or thing can improve the structure of your life except you. Its all about willpower. Challenge yourself. Start small. Get out of your comfort zone.

Pick up some hobbies. You like music? Learn an instrument, it's never too late. Personally I've got a lot of inspiration from the hell I've gone through/currently going through and could probably come out with at least 2 full lengths with all the garbage I've had to deal with.
VIDEO GAMES! I find video games really keep my mind off going out and scoring. Just keep yourself busy as much as possible TRY to find some interests in anything.

Hell yeah video games are awesome so long as we don't get super dependent on them. I've been playing this roguelike called Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, I love it because it really challenges me mentally, it's almost like an elaborate game of chess, but with wizards and such. The graphics are all ASCII, the dungeons are random, there are hundreds of race/class combos, it's a great distraction when I get too stressed.
