She didn't say she was up for it either. Instead of pinning all his hopes on the first bird he messaged he should start messaging others as well. She might be trying to let him down gently. Never keep all your eggs in one basket and all that.

I'm gonna hold off until tomorrow before I make another text and just maybe ask her how her work has been and maybe a bit about bruce springsteen as she is seeing him on saturday, then maybe some other random stuff.

Not sure how to get her to be less cautious, I'm pretty cautious too, although I would love to meet the girl, I'm a shy guy at heart and maybe trying to arrange something with one or two of her friends being there too would be a good idea, so that she feels comfortable, maybe something like a double date with two of her friends could be an option.
