Currently lovin' a bunch of stuff from Russia and the countries that made up the former Soviet Union. They are into such amazing deep, dubby tech house that seems to have developed independently of the rest of the world. I assume it's due to the language barrier. They have their own record pools and famous DJ's and the way that I've been able to enjoy it is through http://www.deepmix.eu
Here's a track example of the sounds over there...
Russian DJ's like Meshkov, Izhevski, and Max & Dima are amazing
The only crossover that I've seen from those far-eastern Euro countries(specifically Romania) is [a:rpia:r] (Raresh, Rhadoo and Pedro) who had a residency at Circoloco at DC-10 in Ibiza and truly helped kick off the big minimal movement. Ricardo Villalobos considers Raresh to be his protegé. Dubfire's relatively new stylistic change toward to more minimal, bangin' sound was inspired by a trip to DC-10. Pretty much the only place I've known them to play in western Europe is Fabric in London (and DC-10) and they played as the full [a:rpia:r] soundsystem for most gigs. I was fortunate to catch Pedro (Petre Inspirescu) on his only US appearance EVER in New York at The Bunker. He did not disappoint in the least. Wow.
Here are a couple http://www.dancetrippin.tv sets of note (great site to browse by the way)
These are full hour-long DJ sets with audio recorded off the mixer and four roving cameramen
