Opioids Oxymorphone hangover

Opana is an amazing drug and I love the high, but every single time I do it I feel really bad the next day. Sore/watery eyes, tired, overall depressed, some back/muscle aches, just not feeling good. And I know it sounds like withdrawals but I don't think that makes sense because I only do it once in a while, never consecutive days at all. This often happens after doing it for the first time in a few months or something. The thing is, this doesn't happen to me with any other opiate - not hydromorphone, not heroin, not methadone, not hydrocodone, etc. With those I might feel pretty good the next day if anything.

So I'm wondering why opana in particular gives me these after-effects. I was speculating that maybe it's because of the half-life which is fairly long. I remember once doing it a lot later at night than usual and the effects the next day weren't as bad. Maybe I'm just doing too much? I think I have a fairly decent opiate tolerance (20mg methadone or so) so I tend to snort 10mg, or at least 7-8. Maybe I should try 5mg next time.

The hangover is almost bad enough to turn me off this stuff completely. Any ideas whats going on here?

Yeah, I've noticed oxymorphone has some of the best qualities, but has a big short coming in that it has some of the worst acute withdrawals seconded only IMO by going cold turkey off fentanyl.

It also depends on how you do your oxymorphone.

Textbook withdrawal symptoms. Sounds like your body starts em up after just a day or so of opana. Although I'd wager you do other opiates on other days.

The more I read the more that's what it seems like... Fuck. Done with these. It's not worth it.

How often do you take opiates? "This often happens after doing it for the first time in a few months or something" - Doesn't sound like withdrawals to me.

If you don't take opiates enough to suffer withdrawals, I would say you're body just doesn't respond well to Oxymorphone. Everyone reacts to drugs differently; YMMV.

It sounds like it's your body trying to tell you to do more Opana, like NOW! Sometimes when I do a snort or two, not 15-30 minutes later, I get this nagging feeling to what to do more even though I know I don't need to. Maybe it's a version of that, not really withdrawals but kind of. Does that make any sense at all? Sorry if not.

i went through same thing its called acute withdrawl i used to be a part time user as well i used to accuse my gf of beating me in my sleep, also some of that soreness came from muscle spasms i had while asleep after abusing opana

I think it has to be withdrawals because the symptoms are virtually identical. I use opiates usually once a week, or less, and the only time I get w/d's with other opiates is when I do them repeatedly: several days in a row, or several times a week if the half-life is very long. But I hadn't touched an opiate for two weeks prior to the other night, and the Opana still gave me these symptoms the next day. These symptoms were identical to what I've experienced the day after every single time I've taken Opana, too, regardless of tolerance or frequency of use (though, like I touched on in the OP, I've never used Opana on consecutive days or in excessive, w/d-causing binges -- which is what makes this whole thing so strange to me in the first place).

I would really like some more input, this is interesting (and disconcerting, for obvious reasons). I feel like there should be some sort of study on this, or at least more discussion online; I've searched and it's very hard to find anything.

Any tips on how to lessen the symptoms at all or am I just doomed to be unable to appreciate Opana without being punished for it?

with opiates, mental addiction, not dependance is also a big contributer to the pain u feel the next day. opanas are 6 times more powerfull than heroin so yeah if u can leave it alone

Very true...

Opana is VERY strong. I think if I do these again I will do half as much as last time. I can't even remember much of what happened the other night, which is disturbing to me, and probably proves I did too much. (Ironic and telling of the insidiousness of opiate addiction that I'm now even considering doing this stuff again, after yesterday swearing it off forever. Probably because yesterday I felt the consequences and today I'm nearly back to normal and craving)

Once you have a dependency to opiates it's really easy to rekindle the fire..

Just a warning, it's only going to get worse. However well you are able to control your self now is the best you will ever be at it lol. Sad but the truth.

Sameto be said about withdrawals for the most part.. if you continue to use, months from now (or years) you will look back on this post/experience and think damn I wish I tackled this monkey back then. Things are so bad now!@
