[started this thread in "other drugs" before here but was getting fuck all relevant feedback *facepalm*]

As I understand it most ethylphenidate comes in a form that most people would not want to smoke. Like you would not want to smoke cocaine without freebasing it into crack first. However I've got extremely hardened lungs from years of smoking and so can bear the pain from smoking it. Ended up smoking a fair bit the last few days, before I realised this is probably stupidly unhealthy in some way.

How is this unhealthy, what difference does smoking it in its raw form (so to speak) have in terms of smoking a freebase version? I'm kinda noob about smoking chemicals. Always been a snorting or bombs away guy.

This is not advanced discussion...

1. uncontrolled pyrolysis of compounds as opposed to controlled vapourisation is much less efficient
1a. more side combustion products (look at a EI/MS trace of ethylphenidate... those are the compounds you're breathing.)
1b. less accurate dosing, increased risk of overdosing.

2. temperatures involved are hotter & more damaging to lung & throat tissue

3. smoking salts means you're almost always inhaling an equimolar amount of HCl... 5-10% by weight if you're not careful.
3a. salts have lower pyrolysis (burning/char) points than freebases & much higher b.p.'s.

I'll keep this open for a bit but there's really not much tos ay on the issue but don't.

Ethylphenidate may be close enough to the cathinones & amphetamines that it can be successfully smoked as a salt, I wouldn't know.

The problem with smoking cocaine is it burns before it vaporizes in HCl form. Its my understanding that if the compound in question vaporizes before burning it can be smoked even in HCl form. The thing that comes to my mind is how lots of people (NOT including me) smoke roxis with Oxy HCl in them and get effects.

Thanks Sekio. I asked for your input in that thread at 'other drugs' but you didn't see it, so I was forced to post it here!

Felt like a baby shark swimming amoungst tuna for a bit.

Understood, and greatly appreciated :)

I hate acronyms. b.p.'s = ?

(I'm guessing burning points)
