Psychedelics and your pets

My other cat got fed mushrooms off one of my sisters arsehole friends. I dont think he enjoyed the experience at all. Bunch of tossers. They use to get him stoned aswell but as i was younger than them and they were radge heads i didnt dare say much(sis and i knew nowt about the mushrooms till he had eating them ). Hes still alive and kicking now tho in my mams house with my cat and this was about 13 years ago - so its all good. He just avoids me at all cost if im tripping tho. Will just sleep on the beds upstairs

I had a similar experience when I got my dog-friend from the animal "shelter" (cage). I was sober, but had been smoking DMT for weeks straight, and me and Henry (my dog-friend) lay down on a matress; and it was awkward. He didn't know whether I was sick, or sleeping or what- all he knew is that something was wrong, and he didn't want that shit in his life anymore. Just waves of terror and agitation coming frrom hm; he's a male rottweiler and will give his life to defend it, and I could feel a massive tension growing in him- "Should I attack- is this safe- will this person hurt me- I don't like this- Grrrr".

Eventually, we went outside and played with an old rope (that he still loves to this day) and I was able to ease some of the tension from him.

I still feel sad, because- while I knew he was mistreated before I got him- I cannot understand anyone hurting this noble, senstive and intelligent guy. He's very big, but very timid- he is scared of snails. :) But- we have bonded- I let him do his dog-stuff, such as in-depth snffing on walks, and chasing and general fence patrol (must be done EVERY MORNING AT 9AM!!), and he lets me love him. Thats all he ever wanted, was love. To love and be loved. Nothing is as good as getting home at night after work, to see this beautful, black-furred monolthic dog vibrating with exctiement energy; and then an ear scracth, which is essentially valium for Henry. Knocks him right out- until its 9AM and fence patrol time.

He's a good boy, he knows it and he loves it :) <3

That's so beautiful <3

Anyone ever tripped around their pets?

What is it like? Do you connect with them on an entirely new level or anything? How do they look physically while you're tripping?

I am in no way saying give your pet LSD... so please don't turn this thread in that direction.

it can be pretty awesome! def. a positive for me.. also a little unsettling once.. my dog was dying from stomach related problems.. i think that's enough details.. other than that, fuck yeah! whole new levels of respect and understanding for "animals" =D .. one time in particular i was just blown away by how fucking cool my dog was, and he was like, awesome! :) i think you're pretty cool too man! :D

I know there was a warning against this in the first post, but...My friend's dog once got into his wallet and ate 20-30 hits of LSD. Apparently he just acted really weird for about 3 days, then was back to normal.

Back to the topic: My dog can tell when I'm tripping, because nonverbal communication starts to break down. I love it though, she's such a sweet animal whenever I feel uncomfortable I can always lay down and cuddle with her <3.

I will be doing mushrooms for the first time this weekend. I really don't know what to expect, but I am willing to ride the wave. My main concern though, is doing this around my two small dogs. I am afraid in the midst of my trip, I may cause them harm. I am the most dog loving person imaginable, but I don't know if they're going to turn into monsters or something...

Should I try to find a new pet-free location?

Thank you very much.

ah, i know the answer to this one! you don't want it to happen. it takes a lot of effort to do hurtful things. sometimes the people that care the most worry the most about the outcome of their action.. which is sweet, but uneccesary.. trip with the dogs.. and pay attention to just how much of a truly gentle and caring person you are! <3 lots and lots.. =D

Cocaine turns people into monsters (gross generalization). With shrooms either you'll love them or you'll be afraid of them (most likely love them). Have some self-trust!

i started playing with my pitbulls frying and it made me understand colmpletely how my dogs feel and what they think about the world and it just beame so clear to me wich was pretty neat. It also made me realize that i was an animal just like them and how interesting how we coexist with eachother even though were so different. Then my dog fell in the pool and if you know anything about pitbulls then youd know they dont go well with water so getting her out wasnt to fun. But hell yeah man its great shit i <3 my dogs

I try not to bring my gecko out of his cage when I'm tripping anymore. I've lost him several times before and spend the next few days tearing apart my apartment trying to find him to find him hiding under a bed or a bookshelf, haha. it's a buzz kill. but he's fun to touch and look at while tripping for sure even though geckos aren't very people social.

i just had a great trip with my cats earlier today. beautiful visuals and tactile sensations in the fluffy fur :)

see the TR, it's titled 2c-t-7 20mg first time :)

I took acid around my cat a couple of times... last time I thought she was tripping too, I had got it into my head that somehow, when I picked her up after touching the tabs of acid, I had passed on some LSD that may have been on my finger tips. I got a bit freaked out as I though she may not be the same forever. I was wrong, haha. I realised cats are just a bit trippy anyway.

Edit: Been around her on Ket, MDMA and Meph numerous times, she is used to the big weird lookin' unfurry cat acting like a crazed loon now.

I am really worried about this too. Especially because rabbits are more sensitive to psychs than other animals. Whenever I am on something she always tries to lick my hands but I dont let her because I worry that I might have some residue left on my hands, especially with the 2c's.

I do something like that with powders; whenever powder drugs are to be ingested in my house I lock the cats out of my room and keep the door closed until I can be sure if there was even the tiniest chrystal/bit of powder spilled its cleaned up before they can come back in; often wash my hands too, just to make sure. Now this is with a powder that if my cats were to accidently ingest a very very small amount, probably still wouldn't harm them (ketamine) but even with this I'm ultra-careful. With other powders; especially RC-psychedelics I would require even more care; like keeping stuff under where there is being worked with the powder and throwing the stuff that was kept under in the trash or something.

Can never be too careful with pets :)

I think you and your pets will be fine.

If you're a dog loving person there is no reason a mushroom trip would make you want to hurt your puppies.

But if you are really that nervous about it than go ahead and find a place to trip where you wouldnt be worrying about that because worrying will have a negative effect on your trip.

I wish i had pets so i could trip with them.

I think it's funny that I can be on all sorts of drugs around my family and pass as sober, but as soon as my dog sees me she can tell...

well to be fair most people are fairly tolerant of others who are whacked out because everyone's always distracted by their own (rx) drugs or tv. pets have nothing better to do than observe you closely, and can be very perceptive.

Can never be too careful with pets

i have a chubby orange tabby cat who will eat most anything, but his favorite foods are watermelon, satsuma orange, and cucumber. he's a real attention hog too.

One of my cats, Tyme-Orpheus (Or Phi for short), formed a very special bond with me when I was on LSD. He would literally just sit in my lap the whole time, totally placid, wouldn't leave me for a second. I don't know if he was hanging out with me 'cause he knew I was in a more vulnerable state, sort of protecting me, or whether he was kind of getting a contact high and just basking in the psychedelic vibes. Maybe little Phi, and all of his species, or constantly on a higher level of conciousness, and feel more connected to us when we use psychedlics? We also sort of had some kind of communication going on. Not quite telepathy, but more then just mere body language. But we knew what each other wanted and needed, and everyone around us commented on how in synch we were.

Another time, on LSD, my friends dog Leeroy and I had a strange experience. This was more like telepathy then anything else. I sort of got convinced this dog was God, he seemed to know everything. Every time I have seen him afterwards, he reacts immensely to me, but seems a little sad, as if he realises something in that connection we had is not the same.

My other cats, Ra and ChiChi, get a lot more affectionate and playful when I am on psychedlics. They sort of seem to be tripping as well, and are eager for excessive petting. One time, I had a bad trip, and my female, Ra, let me hold her for around an hour whilst I got my head sorted. She just purred and let me cuddle her. Like she knew.

When I had mushies recently, my boyfriend's pitbull Nari and I bonded immensely. We hadn't really gotten along very well until that night. However, she acted as my cuddle buddy, and was really nice to hang around. I spent ages petting her. She's very docile, generally, but at one point when we were out walking, around 5 in the morning, the first person popped up. We'd sort of made a bubble around us, 'cause it had just been the three of us all night, and me and my boyfriend got uncomfortable, so Nari barked and growled at this person, which is very unusual of her. At another time, when my boyfriend had disappeared for a while, and I was watching a perpetual shooting star (my first ever hallucination, yay!), me and the dog got a little worried 'cause we were in the middle of town and people started emerging. SO she came over, wrapped her arms around my neck, and hugged me. It was beautiful.

Cats and dogs seem to like weed and psychedelics, but all of my cats dislike when people are on amphetamines. They get really shy and scared, and sometimes angry. And Nari the pitbull hates alcohol. She gets very angry at you when you drink. I mean, she's gentle and all, wouldn't hurt anyone, but it seems like she's telling you off or something.

Weird, man. But beautiful. Animals are the best tripper buddies.

on lsd once, i went out to my front porch to smoke some pot, and my cat was kickin' it there on the bench and i tried to communicate with it telepathically by thinking "please let me sit there" really hard and it meowed and i heard a voice in my head saying your an idiot and then my cat scooted over so i could sit on the bench. That was a crazy trip.

One time on 2c-i, I laid down in the complete darkness to listen to a pink floyd CD, and what do you know, my cat proceeds to lay directly on my face and ends up sleeping there. On my face.
