Sunday or Daily Drugs

What drugs do you on a daily basis (yes Tobacco, Alcohol, Caffeine etc. count) that don't leave you feeling like booking Monday morning off. I've been experimenting with a lot of legal drugs lately hence the above bracket. But ever since November/December 2011 it's been alcohol. For a few months it was a couple six packs during the weeknights and then on the weekend from morning to night. But for the last few months it's just been weekend benders from morning till night. I try to when I can to stop Saturday night and sober up Sunday. But on a few occasions I still drink on Sunday and then feel like death come Monday. This past weekend I felt that way to the point where I just booked it off when I hadn't planned to. I'm turning 34 and I really feel like a deadbeat when my drug use interferes with my bill paying.

I've come to a conclusion that I hope I can stick by. Alcohol really isn't for me even in moderation. I find any drug that messes with my sleep is no good for my quality of life. Used to be big into the pot but haven't ever since I got the panic, anxiety and paranoia that happens to a lot a people. It was a drug for most of my ills and have been searching for a replacement ever since.

So my question in closing is what drug(s) to you do on daily basis that don't interfere with your functioning. Showing up for work, relationships and I guess overall well being.

Thanks.

P.S. Also interested to here from people who use their drug(s) only on a weekly/monthly basis as to experience some type of afterglow that lasts them to their next dose.

After I fall asleep post use of cocaine, I find I sleep like a baby. Dunno what it is, but I seem to sleep so well, waking up feeling nice and refreshed. Though I don't use cocaine that often, nor have any desire to.

Opioids don't leave me feeling like shit in the morning unless I'm physically dependent on a short acting opioid. I'm currently taking methadone everyday, and I wake up every morning feeling like a million bucks. Thats one thing I love about methadone. I can take it the day before and feel good the next day (but if I don't dose at some point that day, I'll start feeling like shit because of the physical dependence).

Weed doesn't leave me with a hang over, but I do notice myself in a little bit of a cloud if in the morning after a real heavy session. Its nothing really but a little short-term memory issue, so I don't really see it as much of a problem.

Maybe look into kratom, your not supposed to use it daily because you can become dependent on it. Although it would be a less harmful habit then alcohol. I love it, its a miracle plant for me.

Yeah I've heard a lot of good things about Kratom. It even has a couple forums devoted to the plant which I see as a good sign there's something to it.

Read a few posts on cocaine having a bad comedown. Don't know how that would effect sleep but it's still a plant I'm interested in. From it's more benign coca tea [morning] to it's active chemical [evening].

P.P.S. Feel free to add your age in your posts. Ballpark, doesn't have to be the exact year. I feel there's something to be said about drugs that can go the distance. As I think a lot people unbeknownst to them are in a honeymoon phase of there favorite drug.

I don't use any drug every day. Caffeine once or twice a week. Weed is something I could use daily and not have hangovers and stuff.
I rarely use drugs during the week. Ketamine sometimes, but I'd only do like a bump or something. Not really anymore though. You feel fine the next day though.
I wish I could use oxys every day. If they weren't so addicting, I totally would :P

Yeah, if I were given unlimited ammounts of heroin for free, I could definately be a functioning addict.. Hell, I've maintained a near perfect GPA with a bundle a day habbit on top of a benzo addiction..but obviously that fell apart eventually.

I really think the only drugs that I know for certain I can control my usage of would be psychadellics, as I've never enjoyed them too much, or when I have, I've never felt the need to repeat the experience right away (though DMT was a little fiendish).

Also Ketamine, without the bladder issues :|

I'd be more worried about it's effect on your memory than the bladder issues, at least initially. Taking ketamine everyday, or any dissociative anyday will impede your ability to form new memories and behaviors. Now dosing dose make a difference, but recreational doses will have these side-effects.

I did Herion every day from 2004 - 2007, I'm almost positive I didn't miss a day then; I still was using almost every day up until recently, I just had a few days off here and there.

Almost any drug can interfere with proper functioning, but almost any drug can be used responsibly so as not to interfere with functioning, too. There are so many variables when it comes to why a certain drug inhibits proper functioning such as availability, effect of the drug, reason for use, and more. For example, many chronic pain patients who are prescribed opioid analgesics function quite well, and very often better than when without them, but many opiate addicts who have limited or infrequent supply fail to function properly due to constant search of more opiates, and withdrawals in between periods of use, and poverty caused or worsened by money used to fund their addictions. Another example would be an individual with an anxiety/panic or eplieptic disorder who takes benzodiazepines and functions better without the anxiety or seizure issues, or an individual who is addicted to benzodiazepines without constant, reliable, and affordable supply who takes super-therapeutic doses and fails to function perhaps because of poor motor skills, impaired cognition, skewed judgement, or withdrawals entailing horrible anxiety and a number of other symptoms including potentially lethal seizures, or constant pre-occupation with search for more.

Addiction is where functioning becomes at risk, but even addicts can remain very functional. All drugs with addiction potential carry risk, but all can be managed, of course this is much easier said than done.
