Oh Dear, cold turkey benzodiazepine WD.

I know I'm not the most popular person on this site and maybe I am asking for some advice or something cus I am FUCKED.


Yesterday to cut a long story short I took alot of antidepressants and diazepam with some alcohol then just kinda ram away from the hospital by booking a taxi in someone elses name and address, I'm clearly still alive but they sent the police after me and when i finally spoke with them they were more concerned that an elderly relative may have been here.

My question is, being benzo dependant and now having NONE what the fuck do I do? In many ways I wish I had just died, but I didn't now there is gunna be hell to pay I am sure.....

I'm no expert but I thought benzo w/d are bad enough to cause physical harm or even kill you?
You can't just stop taking benzos, can you go to a GP/hospital and taper off?

How long have you been taking the benzos and in what dosage amounts? Are you beginning to show any physical symptoms?
 
I stay away for a few hours then just pass out a while

I am supposed to take 20mg a day but I took 2 weeks supply in one day,im utterlu utterly helpless
 
Yeah, diazepam has a very long half life so people think they're going to be fine then end up in the hospital with seizures, if they were lucky enough not to hit their head too hard when they go unconscious.

You really should be in a controlled environment if you yourself cannot provide responsible dosing. I realize you are dealing with some internal issues, and are attempting to numb emotions with drugs, but you are going cause more harm like this.

what do you normally take in 1 day?
 
PLEASE PLEASE dont follow my advice until someone with more knowledge has confirmed this is a good idea (this could be, and probbaly is a terrible idea).

I was thinking how you could avoid a seizure, and get sometjhing GABAish without a prescription, and the only thing I could think of is alcohol. I am clueluess whether this is a good idea or not, but alcohol might possibly provide enough cns depression, and GABA action to keep you safe, of course youll still be in hideous withdrawl, but it might save your from a fatal seizure. But this could make thigns way worse, so please wait till someone with more knowledge than me has backed this up as a good idea, that was a guess, im almost clueless on the chemistry side, although I try to take a keen interest.

edit: of course its a terible idea to get hooked ona different benzo, but etizolam will allow you taper slowly in a safe way. Whether you can avoid abusing it is a different matter entirely.
 
No, alcohol would initially raise, then further lower the seizure threshold. Definitely not a good idea, but I can see your logic.

If the OP is hooked to diazepam, it's going to be hard for them to taper using something else, they are used to the long acting metabolites of diazepam. In the hospital, they would most likely IV him/her diazepam or lorazepam, and if that failed, a barbituate like pentobarbital, for the seizures.
 
Can't you go back to the hospital? Any hospital. Or get diazepam or any other benzos? Persuade pharmacists. Not even dealers or anything? This could really a matter of life and death so do anything you can to get more benzos. You can figure this out!
 
Fuck persuading pharmacists or going to a dealer, or any thing other than going to any hospital, it doesn't have to be the one you just ran from, and getting some medical attention. There's really no other choice.

This is that opportunity you've been looking for to stop your benzo addiction. Take it.
 
If you have to get some phenazepam but in the mean time...from someone whos felt hopeless more than a couple times-Benzo WD even a 24 hr wd after years on diazepam which I did I started Hallucinating. You can turn into the tweaker lookin out the window. Its a total head fuck and is not good. Go to the hospital. HR if you get stuck in a shitty hospital get a phone and call up a dealer or something and then Get a doctor ASAP! Hospitals suck but if your realllly dependent you may not make it through the night and if you do you wont be sleeping. Just go to the hospital. A different one if you feel its nessecary. Just dont let anyone label you drug seeker. If you tried to kill yourself...dont say I know benzos or deadly or which bottle you grabbed first just say you took some antideprassants got drunk and took your bottle of valium stupidly because you were not even coherent or aware of what utou were doing. I hate reading things like this. Dont try to kill yourself with valium if youre dependent on it youll always probably end up OK if you are found. I Dunno.... yikes.
 
The OP does not need to order phenazepam, nor does he/she have the time. They don't need to waste a minute talking to any pharmacist either.

They need to the hospital, just to treat the imminent physical danger, the emotional damage will need counseling, hopefully professional, but at least the OP has the internet, and thus, The Dark Side for support.

This is a matter of the OPs physical safety, which is our primary concern, we will need the OP alive before making progress with the underlying problems/conditions of their depression.

Yeah, benzo withdrawal is no joke. It's not like an opiate addiction where, it sucks, but you can get some bupe or methadone, or even nothing at all, and tough it out at your house for a few weeks. A serious benzo habit suddenly stopped, could seriously kill you, hah. It's serious shit. You need to kick in a controlled and monitored environment. AKA a hospital.
 
Trying to get phenazepam to deal with benzodiazepine withdrawals is a disaster waiting to happen.

Please take yourself to the local ER and get yourself stabilized.
 
I really dont like how people post this stuff here and then seem to vanish off the face of the earth. Just kind of gives me a bad feeling. OP....I hope you have found your way to the ER and are sleeping safely under the care of professionals......
 
yeah benzo WD needs a controlled taper. when i was in detox, the guy i shared the room with was withdrawing from a massive flunitrazepam habit and even with a clonazepam taper, his withdrawal was really bad. get yourself checked into a hospital/detox facility asap.

Wooger, I think that you should listen to this person. You need help and this could be the time to grab hold of the opportunity and get past this once and for all. Don't risk your life. You cannot handle this on your own--you are going to have to ask for help. Please do this for yourself and everyone that loves you.<3
