I'm the same hun. I've become a bit more open with them since I left my boyfriend and have been living with my parents for the last 3 weeks. But I still firmly have my "mask" on around them the vast majority of the time. I wish I could take my mask off, they're my damn parents after all! If I can't be 100%...or even 50% honest and open about my emotions with them....something is not right.
But...like you said spork, they know how I feel about them :) <3

i just sketched a rough drawing for some guy who is organizing a psyparty..
he wants me to do the flyer and also do uv reactive paintings on sheets of plywood > _ <
can't wait! hopefully it ends up happening. i'll get a bit of $$$ out of it :D

Yay! Dex is back!<3=D

My town had a celebration called Glow the other night. They had a DJ in the street, this amazing fire-spitting musical car from Burning Man and fire spinners. The owner of the car plays a keyboard which is somehow read by the pipes on the car which then transmit the sound spitting flames in the process--so the flames dance with the beat. The whole thing was very Tim Burton-like. The fire spinners were much more amazing than my understanding of how to use my camera so no good pictures. Last picture is my nutcase friend making woks full of popcorn for the crowds. I love my town!:)






 
Herb that looks like it was so much fun! Your town sounds so awesome. I envy your location oh so much. Was this a free celebration on the street?

The car spitting flames that go to the beat!? Wow. I'm happy you got to enjoy an exciting night like that. You need some time to yourself to enjoy too.

Man oh man, I want a chameleon so bad.

I've been finding all sorts of lizards in my backyard. I have a cage back there where I hold the interesting looking ones captive for a couple days while I stare at them and then I eventually return them. Here's some pics of my temporary buddies. The first one was from last week. I let him go. And right now I have the guy in the second picture whom I just captured last night, lol. No chameleons, but I love all lizards. We had a skink from the shed for a little while too.

I'll also have to try take a pic of the tree frog that's been hanging around the front of our house, he's awesome. Burger sized, the guy is huge. I saw him the other night he was lazily resting on the very top of the gate. His body was resting on it and all his legs were dangling off, he looked really comfy lol..

He kinda looks like a frog here but that's because his tail is in my hand. He was a friendly fella, I miss smoking cigs with him..

I found a huge dung beetle that I threw in with this guy to see what would happen. I awoke the next morning to an upside down & dead dung beetle & lizard who didn't give two shits.


And this is the current guy. I think he's Cuban. He's pretty large for his species.

His name is Edgar for now.

Free pets are fun. I run out to the pet store for food for the really intriguing guests of my outdoor cage that I may want to keep for a little while.

@Herba: that event looks awesome
@tryp: you're a good painter man. My critique though.. I'd say to add more detail, like akin to the skin on those chameleons. You got the "basic" idea down really good so far though. Props. Starting to look Alex Grey style even, especially with more detail.

@Laika--YOU take amazing pictures, too! Those lizards are beautiful. Do you think when you release them that they go back and tell tales of their "alien abduction" that the other lizards scoff at? ("No, really, listen, they held me in this glass box...and they fed me strange but delicious foods....and they seemed to only want to study me.")=D
 
Haha that's the vibe I aim to leave them off with, most certainly :)
I don't know how that picture came out so good, it was just done with my iPhone this morning but I noticed the spectacular quality right after I snapped it.
