your favorite covers

I'm being cheeky and posting before I go through and have a read :-)

Fiona Apple covering Elvis Costello's 'I Want You'... He provides guitar to her live performance... just amazing.

Johnny Cash owning NIN's 'Hurt'... There's a good reason that most people think Johnny did it originally.

'That's All I Ask' by Nina Simone, covered by Jeff Buckley... that's about all I'd ask for, too ;-)

So many good covers out there... look forward to reading back through the thread...
Take it easy All :-)

There are two very different covers of Skynyrds Simple Man that I like.
The Deftones version has its own kinda spooky feeling to it that I really like.
The Shinedown version is more traditional, but still really good.

Limp Bizkit- Faith (George Michael cover) Kickass song for sure.

Reel Big Fish- Take on me (Aha cover) is a fun one.

Dj Sammy- Heaven (Bryan Adams cover) I really like the original but this cutey did a good job with it.

The Ataris- Boys of Summer (Don Henley cover)

Dynamite Hack- Boyz in the Hood (Eazy-E cover) Possibly the funniest cover I have heard.

Lol I had no idea that was a George Michael song, I always thought it was one of Limp Bizkit's original songs hah
I remember it was #1 on the TRL countdown for like a month straight

I've prolly posted this before but I love Chan and the covers she does

Cat Power - Fortunate Son
& this gem
Chan Marshal and Buddy Guy - Come on in my Kitchen

Nirvana- The Man Who Sold The World (David Bowie cover)
This is my favorite song by Nirvana, so it is definitely at the top of my list of favorite covers. I will admit that I did not know that it was a cover until recently.

Dude, don't even worry about it...I have a friend who, prior to two years ago, actually believed that "Behind Blue Eyes" and "Faith" were original Limp Bizkit songs. I nearly had a fucking seizure.

A few other great covers:
Gary Jules - Mad World (Tears for Fears)
Amanda Palmer - Polly (Nirvana)
Queens of the Stone Age - Back at Dungaree High (Turbonegro)
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Trust in Me (The Jungle Book)
This Mortal Coil - Drugs (Talking Heads)

jerry garcia band covered a few songs that i thought were wonderfully rearranged:
the harder they come(jimmy cliff)
sitting here in limbo(jimmy cliff)
knockin' on heavens door(dylan)
it takes a lot to laugh, a train to cry(dylan)
positively 4th street(dylan)
tough mama(dylan)
tangled up in blue(dylan)
after midnight(clapton)
lay down sally(clapton)
and a few more....

hahaha I remember when this came out. I've always kept this song on my computers/mp3 players over the ages. Funny but great at the same time.
Keep em coming Tommy, wonderful contributions, thank you :D

^ Lol, his Down with the Sickness cover is the tits as well

Buckethead - Hendrix Medley

There should probably be an entire thread discussing Richard Cheese.
He's fantastic lol.

Arcade Fire covering Magnetic Fields' Born on a Train
