<3<3<3 Got into this huge metaphysical discussion at the family dinner table tonight and oh, did I miss Caleb! I love the way that no one in our family agrees but we since none of us actually have any real fixed beliefs we don't disagree either but basically we just spin out forever and ever on possibilities. I really love my family and i miss the baby because he really got the discussions going with all the scientific discovery that is going on right now that just goes right under my radar and over my head. We have always talked like this but somehow having Caleb fly off into whatever comes next and Brian feeling pretty close to that step, these discussions have a new quality.

I have a theory that they are all a part of us- as corny as it sounds- he's in ya! I know that the fact i'm 'me' really has more to do with them(the ones I lost) that they are more me- than me having just known them and thinking that that I knew them. They are me...if you get what im saying.

Sorry hun, ^that's cold comfort when your missing someones physical and mental presence, that you love...but it is hard to miss
someone who is still there- just not with the same 'shape' they had when ya knew them. I think he is probably closer to you now than ever. Much warmth to ya Herb ;)

Experimenting new ways of using paint.
I see the psychedelic silhouette of a lady.
Others see an elephant.
What is the first thing that comes into your mind?
 
I see a cartoony like duck wearing one of those long hats and either his jaw is dropped open or he's saying something funny like "gak gak gak" just garbling some nonsense out of his mouth. And since it's a psychedelic style picture the blob above his head could be a lightbulb but since its colorful instead of being yellow or white light, it could be symbolic and represent interesting and colorful ideas.

Totally wicked painting. I love that it's so small. I absolutely love your work.

Thanks for digging it.. Ive never worked on canvas boards that tiny. It's cool, I want to paint a bunch of them & sequence them on a wall in my house maybe :)
 
That was so fun. I wasn't seeing anything at first either. I was like errrrrr. I was staring at it for like 5 minutes and then I saw it. I looove pictures like this. I'd totally commission one from you. I love paintings. I got started on buying oil paintings once when I was in an antique shop looking around and saw the most vibrant sunset/sunrise ocean picture. The clouds and the waves reflecting were so true to life but the colors were so surreal and bright. I ended up getting it for $60 and it's a 3'x2'. It's my most cherished one and it hangs above my bed. But I've been collecting ever since. Neko, another member on the forum who lives by us came to hangout once and brought a painting because she's an artist. That one's in our living room. Paintings are cool regardless but ones that have a history are even way cooler.

I was working on an idea similar to this. Unfortunately I only got the first "tile" done and then never continued lol. But it WAS gonna be an awesome sequence of small drawings.

Also, yours has the "this is your brain on drugs" feel to it.

Stardust; I really want to see your collection!! Especially the piece by neko. I've seen her artworks in SO many times and I am always highly impressed.
So I've gathered recently that you enjoy a good sunrise/sunset!
I have never really tried to capture a sunrise in my works.
Next time i am creating something new I will try & remember to do one.
Could turn out good!

Thanks tripno! I did that a couple years ago but hey, maybe I'll find it in me to keep them up. Would be accomplishing to do another piece I'd say. Thanks for the encouragement. I remember I used to be more into posting my art and I remember we exchanged many words in the art threads when you had your old account.

n3o - It took me about 2-3 hours if I recall correctly. And I'm sending a piece to you really soon. Just haven't decided on which one yet, maybe I'll start something new and exclusive. We're also thinking about making you a necklace :D
 
Trip, I'd love to see your style put into some sunrise/ocean pic. I'm positive it will turn out awesome. You do great work. I'll try and take a few pics of my current paintings I own. They are all beach/sunrise themed. My bedroom is so ridiculous. I have an entire house but I have 3 huge paintings on my bedroom walls and one mid size painting in the bathroom off the bedroom. The rest of the house has like 2 paintings through the entire thing. I'm so selfish with my paintings. I want them all in my bedroom since that's where I usually hangout.

Here are two pics my mom did that I have my eye on. I'm gonna try and snag them when I go home to visit :P.

They remind me of Amsterdam city on the water ish.
