Deep Vein Thrombosis

Yeah so , my Doc is on hol.s till 5th of jan , he is the only one in the practice that deals with addicts .
I have seen 2 other GPs and despite showing them my leg n the discolouration and swelling neither are doing anything.

Basiclly the scan came back negative for a clot so they think its all good , when it clearly is not .
When i had one of my previous clots i remember that it wasn't picked up untill i forced them to perform a 2nd scan.

I'm really worried that they may have missed this one and till my GP gets back none of the other practise docs are taking me seriously .
 
Brimz, if you are really concerned but your doctors' won't do anything, you could try going to a walk-in centre and explain that last time it took 2 scans to pick it up? Or even A+E, although they'll probably tell you to see your GP :X

A walk-in centre might be your best bet though, or a minor injuries unit or something...
 
i was thinkin the same thing , well actually i was gonna wait till the Surgery is shut for the hols n then go to the walk in centre.
This way the surgery won't get arsey that i went over thier head as such.
 
oh brimz sorry to here the situation you find yourself in as you know DVT can be very serious dont just sit at home worrying go to that walk in centre and have sumone look at it i feel your pain about injecting heroin as im in the same madness i wish you all the very best
 
so this was nearly 4 months ago i started this thread.

Well i still haven't stopped using my Femoral Vein i've cut down but still can't stop .
I lknow all the dangers n have had all the complications all my friends think i should stop even my fukin dealer well one of em he's more of a mate but still.

Tbh i can't see myself stopping untill i end up in hospital again ,
Folk come on here no disrespect to them saying about opiate hell after 2/3 years of using i understand that it is all subjective but this is fukin real.
We are talkin nearly a decade of FEmoral injecting.
I had to post this cos i don't want to act like everything is good when in fact it is far from it.
 
be careful brimz, you are playing with fire by continuing that behavior. Obviously you are experienced enough to know when something is wrong and you clearly can see that as you said it yourself. Dont risk everything because you didnt stop soon enough. Im not telling you how to live your life, im telling you how to keep your life. Blood clots are very serious and very dangerous. I dont know the exact medical sciences behind them, but a few relatives and friends of mine had issues with them in the past. Please be careful man
 
Have you tried methadone or bupe? I'm not one to preach as i have my own needle habit going on and off for over 2 years but when you start running into life threatening trouble like that you should perhaps look at other options. A guy i have known for years just had a rather nasty stroke due to a blood clot (non drug use related) and he will most likely be a vegetable for the rest of his life if he lives at all. So blood clots are nothing to brush off that's for sure.

All this reminds me of just how fucking lucky Ive been to not have gotten any complications from injecting some rather dodgy pills and powders over the years :|

It's gone beyond that i've been on mmt for 16 years clearly it is not working quite as it should.
Tried Subs etc i'm just me .
I've not got a blood clot atm but my circulation is comprimised and i have what is called post thrombotic Syndnrome which is irreversiable.#
I'm tired of everything atm n really don't give a fuk , maybe a stay in hospital would wake me up i dunno .........

Ok i get your point. How about something as radical as perhaps getting a opiate you won't mind taking orally even if you have to take very high doses. Morphine, hydromorphone, oxymorphone, etc could all be tried if for no other reason to get you off the needle which is the immidiate problem. Even taking potentators such as anti-histamines with your dose of whatever to add a kick to it would be a safer option then what you are doing now.

I'm sure that's a stupid question or whatever, but cycle your remaining sites wisely.

I am thankful to be able to use micron filters so I can IM buprenorphine. Otherwise my veins would look horrible. They look great now.

Can you switch to a non injection ROA? <3

I agree with paranoid android, but I won't judge anyone for injection drug use. Your body, your choice, but think about alternative ROA's.
