fo shizzle, well resilient creatures, my oldest is missing a leg and some of his tail (non cow/horse related!) and is basically as fast as he ever was on four legs.
 
i've been woken up 4 times this month by the sound of lapping.
this was how i got woken up @ 7am on monday morning. she's got a waterbowl in several places all over the house, so it's not like she needs mine.

After the water incident, I put some TV torrents on to dl on my laptop next to me, shoo'd cat away, went back to sleep ... got woken up to laptop making beeping noises about 5 minutes later.

yeah, I saw that n thought it might be some sort of duplicitous plot to harm me.
..
trouble is, I've only recently noticed her drinking mine. I always leave water by my bed due to alcohol consumption usually, but it's normally drunk during the night by me generally. She's probably been doing it for years though and I've been none the wiser and sharing the same glass ... not good :\

[edit] .. she's almost 20 tho, and is less flexible than she used to be and doesnt seem to lick the part that's giving me cringeworthy thoughts. if she's been cleaning herself before stealing my water ... urgh .. gag

Right its war your clearly prepared to use any influence you can muster to win a hollow victory for your feline friends....your wings cannot harm me ...no wait that's wrong...but anyway I'll be back with more kanine support than you can throw a stick for.

Pfft I could have got all my BDD socialites over here to vote but I didn't.. cats are clearly superior.

yeah mine's got a thing for toilets too. mainly because she knows that as soon as I wake up, the first thing i do is go for a wee, so if she wants attention, or feeding, she sits on the bathroom loo, and if the lids not down, she'll still sit there teetering on the seat edge waiting patiently until i get there. [edit](i have a pic of this somewhere but can't find it at the mo, will post later if it turns up)

she also likes to scale the bath when I'm having a soak. (see below, taken while I was having a bath). she fell in once, not just a leg either, completely underwater. leapt out looking 3 times smaller and like a little rat ... running and slipping all over the place. hasn't stopped her from doing it again though

Had to have her bro put down last july/august time. he got sick overnight, and I stroked him as he died on the vets table .. crying and totally devastated as the vet injected his kidney with whutever it is they use to euthanise them.

he was my fave too [he was the brother to the one above]

^^ haha .. love it. glorious stuff. mine also does this, but not while its gushing like that. that cats obviously mental. love how it keeps swallowing the water.

I had a German Shepherd dog once (whom I inherited from a friend and former housemate, when she was no longer in a position to look after her) and she was amazing. She had been brought up as a helper dog, and she was certainly helpful.

She managed to work out all on her own that when the telephone rang, it was making a noise to attract my attention. If I hadn't picked it up within three rings, she would begin barking; and if I stood up, she would lead me to the phone. I guess if she had lived another year, she would have learned to knock the handset off its rest with her wolfy "beak" and bark into it!

She also had such a sense of pack hierarchy that she would not let me walk her anywhere further than the end of the street if her first owner was about, and she would only let anyone else walk her if I was not around. Also, if I was ever caught short on a long walk, she would always piddle a bit right on top of where I had just been.

RIP Chloé. A day doesn't go by without me thinking of you.
 
Marmalade, your cat is so beautiful. What breed is it? I want to get a Maine Coone one day, they look like angels.
 
My poor old dog looks away in an uncontrollable bout of abject despair as those unfaithful felines edge into a hollow and marginal lead ;)
