What happens if I go to the ER and explain to them how I feel?? would they be able to help me fast because my appointment with my psychiatrist is in 3 weeks!! its way to long.. my condition is getting worse everyday.

Are you waiting for your initial appointment with your psychiatrist? If so, then going to the ER may be helpful. If you've already seen a psychiatrist, you should call your doctor first before going to the ER.

Waiting for the initial appointment. So far ive only spoken with my GP, who put me on seroquel 25mg for a month (helped with a couple of things but not visuals), then valium 2mg x4 helped a bit, until I started to abuse it for recreational use. Hopefully ill get put on conozepam which ive heard will reduce the visual effects of hppd+ olanzapine which can also be helpful for both hppd/ bi-polar!! im so confused its not just one thing I need help with!

In my experience of working in the ED, most ED Doc's won't prescribe psych meds and will either put you in a psychiatric hospital or discharge you home to follow up with a psychiatrist. But if you go to an ED that has it's own psych ward, you have a better chance of getting meds. Then again, you still run the risk of hospitalization.

What the fuck is HPPD/DP/DR?
hallucinogen persisting perception disorder: when perceptions are still "trippy" too long after a trip. everybody has liquidy gunk in their eyes that they can see if they try to notice it and the light comes in at the right angle, for example, but with HPPD, the brain does not automatically filter out this from the visual field. other common effects are increased static/visual snow, and HPPD commonly goes along with anxiety and DP/DR.

DP/DR: depersonalization/derealization. one feels disconnected from one's body in a sense, and things don't seem as real.

these are much more common after bad trips.

best advice i can give, is to relax, do not focus on it, get regular and quality sleep, avoid stress.

clonazepam has been shown to reduce symptoms, but if used for more than a few weeks i'm sure a lot of rebound HPPD could come back. i bet clonidine and propranolol would help too, though i don't think any studies have been done concerning them.

doctors and hospitals don't know much about this. they also tend to be afraid of LSD and psychedelics, and have irrational reactions to them.

i have a weird theory: if one has a bad trip, and has extreme after effects... what if he trips again, with a guide and has a pleasurable trip... would it be "reset"?

Alright, I have to come back on and say, I support that theory. High dose MXE trips seemed to reset it for me. I got in an accident with a car though, and have since lost the magic. Will probably try again soon.

Different jurisdictions, ergo different regulations, and we don't know exactly how the OP will present himself, even it was 100% deterministic, we don't have knowledge of the state of system to a high precision. Allow for complex system dynamics/chaos to toss in a bit of extra vagueness.

It is not 100% deterministic, as I am sure you see, not every Dr treats everything exactly the same, so our model of the system has to model that Dr, as well as OP.

oh my god that is so awful... hope to hear good news from the op

My WD from Valium has made my hppd/dr/dp ALOT worst, this is pretty sad. But, after three months, I have made the decision to man up, and live with the consequences of my actions. Although its brutual/hellish and im tired of tripping day and night, its the life I have to get used to.. the sooner I understand and accept that there is no "cure" there sooner I can move on with my life. Hopefully, when I slowly get of the valium the paranoia would go away at LEAST.

Thanks for your help guys!

Perhaps he is seeking out others who may have presented at the ER with the same issue? Or maybe he's just looking for some reassurance and support..

This is what I was getting at... consensus.

So you mean you're going to be tripping for the rest of your life?

What drugs did you do?

Pretty much, although the intensity will reduce over the years, maybe if im really lucky months. I did NOT get HPPD from acid, I got it from a combination of the research chemical 6-apb/5-apb, I used it in a club, and then things got really trippy, I then got into a fight with someone in the club (traumatizing experience) thus resulting in HPPD.

So how bad is it? Like how are you tripping now?
Colours/patterns blend together & stuff like that?

Does it make it hard to drive a car for example? Or go about your everyday chores?

Contrast in coloures are very strong, vivid coloures.
Visual snow/static
Intense trails of my hands/moving objects
(when it gets really bad), things looking 2-d, peoples faces looking cartoonish, objects looking bigger/smaller than they actually are.

Ive stopped driving, I cant do it. I was learning how to drive, but then just stopped, but im going to start again.. I have to continue my life SOMEHOW, Im pretty used to all this shit by now tbh, its been a couple of months. However, find it pretty hard to concentrate on a particular task e.g. writing an essay. Nevertheless, now ive learnt to man up and just give it all I have!
