I know everyone keeps telling me there are SOME similarities. But tbh I consider Valium to be more of an "opiate like" drug than codeine which ive done many times before. Perhaps because I haven't done GOOD strong real opiates.

They both produce a muscle relaxation body high but opiates are much more euphoric.

Let me put it like this, the best euphoria youre ever gonna get off a benzo (on a scale of 1-10) would be around a 2, whereas the best euphoria possible with an opiate would be a 10.

I think valium causes a mild euphoria but only if u take 20mg+ if u have no tolerance 60mg+ if u have mild tolerance & even up to 120mg+ if u have a strong tolerance.
I take valium about twice a month & i still need atleast 100mg. Once u get a tolerance to benzos it takes a very long time for it to go away. That's even if it does eventually go away.

Have u tried drinking 400mg+ of codeine. codeine definitely feels more like an opiate than valium. It feels more like an opiate than oxycodone which feels kind of stimulating. Morphine ofcourse feels like a proper opiate & codeine feels more like morphine than oxy.

Codeine is a very weak version of a very good high. Codeine to me would feel better than oxy if it was 3 or so times stronger. Codeine seems to go to a better place than oxy it just isnt as strong imo

u could say valium feels more like an opiate than tramadol which feels like an AD should feel like. that's an AD with SNRi properties that is.

otherwise. I think oxy is what an antidepressant should feel like %) it's calming yet doesnt make ya as drowsy as the other opiates

Xanax causes a mild euphoria............but as for an opiate feeling, I havent done every benzo out there so I wouldnt know. Like mentioned above, morphine is a true opiate sedating feeling, then codeine. Oxy definitely is speedy & I know its an opiate but it lacks that true opiate experience imo.

I have just taken 30mg of diazepam about 30mins ago and I just love the moment when I can feel it hitting and sinking into my brain.
A great treat to myself as not working today.

all benzo's do for me is give me a relief feeling from my anxiety.. kinda like how opiates just kill my pain but give a little buzz on top. Opiates FTW.

EDIT: ^ beat me to it lol.

What do you consider to be "opiate-like" effects?

Post script: Codeine sucks.

^+1 yea, codeine sucks, imho not because the intensity of the high so much as the super short lived peak. I hate how quickly I got from high to wish I was high...

Valium produced, as someone else has mentioned, sedative, muscle relaxing effects similar to some opioids (i.e. not the speedy ones such as oxy).

Other than that though, I don't know many, if any, people who are experienced with drug (ab)use that would consider benzo's to generally be like opioids... People I remember saying such things were kids during my freshman year in college who were newer to the game. Those innocent folk, ya know ;)

As someone else mentioned too, try a high dose (for people w/o much tolerance) of codeine (300-400mg) and Valium (20-40mg). They are VERY different. If nothing else, Valium lasts waaaay longer, and is much more sedating. Codeine is a classical opioid, and not nearly as sedating or long lasting.

Ive haad around 200 mg of codeine.

Dreamy/floaty feeling/ I feel physically heavy in person, but my mind feels light as a feather, euphoria, no pain both physically and mentally.. benzos to me 20mg seem to give me the dreamy/floaty feeling and mild euphoria, and gets rid of anxiety just like opiates.

You're definitely the only one, benzos aren't euphoric in the slightest. If you've never felt true euphoria or actually done an opiate you may think benzos feel like opiates. But if you HAVE felt euphoria before, then there's no way a person would think benzos are euphoric.

And I wouldn't say it gets rid of anxiety like opiates, more like opiates get rid of anxiety like benzos.

Ive tried around 200mg then I gaved up on it, Ill try around 350mg next time CWE, thanks guys :) would the combo with about 10mg valium be any good? or would it dull the opiate?

Im sure Ive felt euphoria mate, ive done PLENTY of euphoric drugs. I never said Valium gives you heats/rushes of euphoria like anything else, but it does give me "mild" euphoria. Perhaps this is just my subjective experience? or it could be placebo, anyways I am happy with the results I get! :)

most likely.

I think flunitrazepam, alprazolam, and temazepam are euphoric. It's not an opiate euphoria, more like an alcohol like euphoria. If you take benzos expecting euphoria like heroin or coke you'll be disappointed.

I think opiate/upper addicts don't necessarily consider alcohol and depressants euphoric in the same way. This is why when measuring a drugs abuse potential they have the morphine-benzedrine scale to measure euphoria in opiates or stimulants, LSD/dysphoric scale for psychedelics(dysphoric? I think acids very euphoric), and the Pentobarbital- Chlorpromazine-Alcohol scale for downers.

Most benzos seem better for synergy with other more euphoric drugs.

Oh yeah I forgot about flunitrazepam, I've only one it three times and I can't believe I forgot to mention it, I feel like it actually does produce mild euphoria, WAYYYY much more than temazepam/midazolam.

thanks THC2LSD, btw awesome username.

I disagree. I am an IV heroin addict, so I have definitely felt true euphoria. And I agree that opiates completely blow benzos out of the water in terms of euphoria. But I still think a nice dose of valium can be mildly euphoric. I certainly found valium quite enjoyable before I got addicted to benzos. It used to give me a floaty feeling with crazy thoughts and relaxation/sedation. It was great.

I think LSD can be very euphoric but for me the intense euphoria only lasts about an hour and then the whole rest of the trip I have no euphoria. Mushrooms on the other hand. are the most euphoric, heavenly drug Ive ever taken, better than MDMA and heroin combined for me. The last time I took mushrooms, I experienced 9 hours of blissful feelings.
