LOL @ startpage, because they are either A) automating queries on Google (they will trigger Google's filters sooner or later and get the IP banned) or B) they are using Google's Custom Search engine too. Interesting.
They say "No IP address recorded." Right. Every website you visit logs the IP. This whole "OMG GOOGLE HAS COOKIES AND LOGS IPS" is funny, because every site does that. Google just does it better. You're never anonymous online. Even that proxy you use is logging your IP. The only thing you have going for you is that you put one step in front of the subpeona, so the person who wants to track you down has to get the proxy logs, and yeah, if it's a foreign site, the person might get stopped due to foreign laws (hence why this site is not in the US), but ultimately, the IP is logged.
And then you get the people thinking they are proxying all the while using a transparent proxy. LOL
People who are angry that Google logs IPs as if they are the only one doing it and it's a conspiracy need to take the tinfoil hat off.
Be really really careful when someone claims to use Google's engine or anything Google related. I can't tell you how many people scam using the Google name. I'm guessing this site is one of them, because if they are going the route that will *not* get your IP banned from Google, then they are using CSE (the only legal way to do it without getting banned), and then they are lying to you.
Also, if you use Google CSE for searching the entire web, you get weird results. It's not really meant for that purpose, although I have implemented it for that purpose before. Search results are totally different, but I suppose that makes sense because IP, browser, and personalization all affect your search results.
