Am I being watched?

I never really gave it much thought, but recently I'm really starting to worry about being on some list that the cops are looking into. Are they listening to
my calls? reading my emails and personal messages online? Or maybe have a folder full of pictures of sketchy transactions in parking lots and what not. I'm hoping I'm just being paranoid, but has anyone been busted and come to find out that they have a big ass case against you/ have been watching what you do, getting down your routine? I'm also hoping that none of my friends are narcs. Idk when I go to certain areas in town to do certain things I feel like the whole place is bugged. Am I just paranoid?

If you don't take part in trafficking or selling larger amounts of drugs I'd doubt that the cops bother to spy you. Are there any objective cues that they do so. Did you ever have similar feelings in the past? What and how much drugs did you ingest lately?

You've got to ask yourself is whatever you're doing on a large enough scale that it would warrant that kind of investigation

TBH man nowadays since 9-11 everything is being watched lol. You have no idea how much they spend on security every year here in the US. Most of which is privately contracted to regular citizens. Security = WATCHING YOU (and everyone else too.

The only people who get away with breaking laws in the US nowadays is politicians and other very very wealthy people lol.

Internet, emails, phone calls, all get "randomly" bugged in the name of homeland security. The government pays private citizens to "observee and report suspicious activity" through various programs. Everybody is spying on each other lol it's the new world order.

But it's not centralized around you or anything you know? It's to everyone all over.

Not selling large amounts more of a consumer. But I know a lot of people that do and associate with them on a regular basis. I lived in a trap house for about 6 months, well it slowly became a trap house, constant traffic in and out all day and night. I think they had profiles on all of us. We all got kicked out before it got raided, (the chicks dad who was renting it to us for cheap was super pissed). But these days im not selling much, mainly facilitating so I can get mine for free ya know. Once the shroom and L connect dryed up I didnt really have anything to sell in weight. I took a bunch of vyvanse today, but thats not why I'm paranoid. I'm just wondering if my car/face/name is known by the local pigs? and If they even bother trying to fry the small fish.

Personally, I think the government knows every one of us. They know what we do, what we search on the web, who we interact with, etc. But whether they care enough, or better yet, whether we do anything large enough to warrant such investigations is the real question. I'd like to believe they know everything we do, so if you're just consuming and buying drugs from time to time, I doubt they give a shit. They much rather spend their money on catching the big-scale traffickers. The average joe, buying a half ounce of weed, selling to his friends to smoke a little for free is probably not gonna be on the list of people being watched.

Sure, they probably watch you...know who you sell to, who you buy from, etc, but I doubt they give enough of a shit to investigate you for months on end, just to build a case against you for selling/buying small amounts. And as stated in an earlier post, everything is bugged nowadays. Every area is being watched. After 9/11, nobody is an enigma anymore. They got profiles on everyone, without a doubt.

An easy way to verify this would be to look at any recent case regarding someone who was convicted for something that required a lengthy investigation. The evidence gathered is admissible to the defense and unless the case is sealed, the public.

If you're trying to prosecute someone, you can't just say, "We have server logs of a chat conversation from xx/xx/xxxx" - You actually have to inform the defense how you came about the information. Did you subpoena the ISP? Did you get a warrant to plant a keylogger on their computer? Did you have an informant on the inside? All of this has to be laid out during the trial, as a matter of due process.

J.Wallace, if it's your contention that profiles are being built around random citizens, then I would kindly ask you for evidence that this information-gathering was used to convict someone in a court of law and is part of the public record.

You're right, they can't necessarily use this information in the court of law without legally obtaining it beforehand. But that doesn't stop me from believing they have files on everyone, and know what we do and how we do it. Granted, I'm just spewing tin-foil hat type stuff now, perhaps I've done too much LSD, but frankly with the way our government works, it would be no surprise to me if this was the case. They, the people in power, want to know everything about us, and how to control us.

Of course, sometimes I think this. But then I remind myself of how stupid human beings are in general, so perhaps their just as stupid as us, and really have no idea what to do, or how to do it. Who knows. I prefer to play it safe though. Or perhaps I'm just wacky. lol.

My friend has a rather epic anecdote concerning one of his school friends that got his (parent's) house raided by an entire SWAT team one summers afternoon. Turned out the police had been spying on him for a while, due to suspicions that he was a big time dealer. He wasn't a dealer. They found nothing. I'd imagine they were very embarrassed.

Needless to say cases like this are very rare. I'd imagine if the police were on to you, you'd have to have given them a good reason.

If this is all getting to the point where you're a stressed-out paranoid mess, an easy solution is just to stop doing anything illegal. Responsible drug use is supposed to enhance life, and if it's not doing that for ya, then why keep doing it? Or at least get yourself down to just an end-user. Leave the drug game to those who get high off of the risk factors.

Have you heard of the Patriot Act? We gave away our rights ( I DIDNT, WILLINGLY) to privacy to help "the war on terror".

The government is recording everything we send over communication, text messages, emails, anything that the "terrorists" might be using. However, the thing is, what's to say in the future they won't give the State police this information? Then they could make a whole bunch of money by fining individuals, and going after dealers, suppliers, etc., in the name of "an advance in the war on drugs".

Cellphone carriers and internet service providers are already legally mandated to store a certain amounts worth of internet related crimes like those that originate on facebook etc, call history, text messages, internet history, etc. All it takes is for a judge to order the copies, just like they used in the casey anthony trial. Right now it may be too expensive and they only screen our private communications for homeland security, but who's to say in the future the president, congress, or the house of reps pass such a law to allow them to share our information with state police.

and yes I know my post makes me look like a schizophrenic talking about the government etc, but this is true shit that applies to YOU (if you life in the USA)

With all the new privacy policy changes about to happen, i wouldnt be surprised if the "higher powers" had an agenda behind all of this, think about it years of freely giving info up on the net.... Then you read the revised privacy statments... Something doesnt smell right IMO. sorry its not exactly OT but protains to the above dissussion, Big brother is prominent in OZ also.

Some people give far too much credit in this thread to the information gathering prowess of law enforcement and governments. And just because they have information doesn't mean they can use it meaningfully, or can be bothered to.

To the OP, your activities and associations may be cause for some attention from law enforcement, but your original post sounds like strong symptoms of paranoia. If you're concerned, definitely stop "facilitating" (which isn't any different from dealing, really) and laying off the drugs might help with any paranoia.
