Which illegal psychedelic should be made legal?

government officials
They are trying it. If government officials like presidents that run the country can get head from Monica Lewinski and get away with it and still keep his wife I'm sure somebody in power has sampled some DMT down the line somewhere.

Hell I'd be stoked if I could go to the liquor store and pick up some MXE or the cigarette store like you can with Salvia.

MXE is supposedly legal but I really doubt it.
I'd like to see it really be made legal. Like I can just go get some like I can Salvia. But I can't.. cause it's not really legal like that.

Hell I can already "legally" buy weed in my state but the federal government says it's illegal still. They close the stores down all the time and they open up again the next month with new owners. lol
It's crazy.
The feds are at war with the state.

I don't think anyone can control the release of all these crazy new chemicals an highs fast enough.

Man, utopian thoughts... not to be a buzz-kill but if you think the powers that be are going to do anything but carpet-bomb any and every attempt to expand minds and promote psychedelics, you are mentally living on another planet! Never ever gonna happen. "THEY" have far to much of a vested interest and the infinite riches to destroy any opposition. The idea of "legalizing illegal psychedelics" is total fantasy-ville, sorry to say!

^ Going to have to disagree there. With the introduction of legal, prescription medical marijuana, the U.S. began to move in the right direction. Cannabis came reasonably close to becoming completely legalized in California. If cannabis can become legalized, and we can see that the American population doesn't devolve into slovenly, overweight, jobless stoners, I think it could very well pave the way for legalization of other non-addictive psychoactive substances.

And that's not to mention the Netherlands, who exemplified a functioning Western society with legal access to psilocybin mushrooms (up until 2008 that is).

The truth is though the weed isn't legal on a federal level. Only on a state level.
Omabinator said he was going to go easy on the dispensaries but they are still closing them down left and right. 8):p

Weed is a gateway, they don't want you using it and leading to the trippy stuff.

^ but it is undeniably progress. the prohibition era of cannabis is finally coming to an end

i too find the current situation of things sometimes depressing, but all you can do is have hope !

Really what I think NONE. Drugs were amde illegal for the reason that they rewin your life they make you feel to good and they make you live on like a savage. Even the weekest drugs such as cannbis or alcohol are very poising at times. Even the already legal ones such as DXM can rewin your life. Drugs were made illegal for a reson and they should not be made legal again It jsut to big of a risk that other people will become savages...

Geez. I guess you've nailed it! Now it confirms my suspicions that here on bluelight we were all a bunch of savages. Now I do not need a justification for my wishes of howling on the street and ripping people's heads with blunt axes [scratching my ear with my foot]

Lol, savage....thats a funny term for a psycho-active user. I feel you may be mixing up the 'general effect' of addicting substances on people's actions and lifestyles with that of psychedelics. I can see a bunch of thugs and crack-heads robbing and shooting one another to be rather 'savage'. But discussing the root mechanisms of reality, spirituality, love and/or neuroscience (common psychedelic topics) doesn't feel very savage.

In fact I dare-say sophisticated eh? Lol give me some fancy cheese and some fancy wine and some fancy rich-old-person clothes and let me discuss reality over tea and acid...! Until my inner-savage catches up to me, and I smash the table to procure a makeshift club for bashing my fellow discussed over the head with :-)

All psychoactives should be made legal, not on any merit of the drugs themselves but on the principal that no governing body should ever exercise control over what individuals do with their physical and psychic bodies.

I'd love to be able to get my hands on ketamine by walking down to the store (wouldn't mind national wide system that allowed you to only purchase a certain amount each month, as I could see myself running through copious amounts continually).

DMT would also be nice. I wouldn't have any problem with consuming it extremely frequently creating a potential problem for myself. I've extracted a bunch for a personal stash and have had it last for ridiculous periods with out being touched. DMT seems to call me when it wants to be visited, but remains on the shelf when my mind isn't ready/in the mood for it. I saved a jar in the freezer actually for a year with about 75mgs in it (only was able to scrap up ~50-60) while still knowing of it's presence. That made for a fantastic last psychedelic experience for an extended period (was the last one I had). I funnily enough forgot that I dosed 2000mg of piracetam 4-5 hours earlier during the day, and my socks were knocked off far beyond what I was expecting.

DMT is a drug that "feels" like it should be legal.

The feeling of smoking DMT is comparable to the feeling of eating an orange... so natural, so perfectly free of any possible downsides, that the idea of making it illegal is silly to the utmost.

Hey ApleCore, got some very pure crystals a guy extracted from plant (not sure which) then put through extensive cleaning wash, result was totally clear sparkly crystals, about 2 years ago... never tried them... they have now turned a very slight yellow. How much do you suggest trying for a first time smoke? I am thinking 20mg, I want to feel the DMT sensation but not have a total "breakthrough".

Actually I would go with ~10 mg to start, maybe 15. You'll definitely start getting a feel for DMT's mystical, hyperspatial, spiritual vibe, but it'll be a gentle introduction.

Either that, or load up the pipe with 30-40 mg and just keep smoking it until you're comfortable with the level of trippiness. :)

The degradation associated with the slight yellowing will be negligible.

THANKS! ...and now back to our regularly scheduled broadcast...

Dumb thread. All drugs should be legal, even the bad ones like Datura and alcohol. ;)

Drug laws and the courts that enforce them violate and prohibit the most basic of human desires

^ True -- the desire to alter consciousness is clearly a basic property of human psychology. Anyone who watches movies, listens to music, plays video games, reads a fantasy novel, has sex, or even takes a walk in the park, is attempting to enjoy some sort of altered state of consciousness. It's just that some people can't accept the fact that sometimes a worthy altered state can come from a chemical.
