Currently I am on 40mg of Escitalopram daily and I have Alprazolam and Triazolam to take pro re nata.

I rarely use the benzo's more than once a month these days though as most of you already know, I ruined benzodiazepines for myself.

Trip- Thank you. I was able to get a lot if answers. <3

I was on lex for a while but i didn't give it enough time to work... Maybe I should try it again..

I use clonazepam and marijuana to deal with my anxiety...

Last time I had to donate blood I hate 4mg in the waiting room before getting called in.. (I HATE needles - thank god too; I LOVE opiates)

I got prescribed lexapro that didn't work then I got prescribed celexa... That didn't work now I'm on zoloft but this doesn't work either. They won't give me prozac cause of the negative shit it caused with my sister. Anyways I have that prescribed for depression/anxiety. I then went to the er and got prescribed lorazepam and so far got it refilled but need to see a psychiatrist (hoping to get something better). That all does nothing for me. The shit that does work is marijuana and opiates lololol but I won't be prescribed that.

I suffer from anxiety/panic.. Efexor seems to have been the best working med for me. Helps with motivation too. Diazapam on occasion as well, though I keep that at the least amount as possable. Also excercise is the best! Just Need to do it more :p

as for benzos. valium has the longest half life so it sort of tapers itself out of ya body which is good because out of the benzos ive tried i like valium the best.
(ive only had lorazepam, temazepam, alprozolam & diazepam)
not the temazepam is the best benzo for sleep because it doesnt interfere with REM sleep like the other benzos

its good to hear someones getting an effect from effexor. i have a pack of prisiq which is effexor metabolite but i havnt touched em cuz i took it for a week & felt kind of out of control of my mood.
effexor is suppose to be a little less stimulating which is what i want.
i loved tramadol which i took for 4.5 months at 150mg. i found when i took more it caused an unconformable stimulant effect. tramadol is like suppose to be the closest related chemical to effexor or something but without the opioid effect.
the next AD im gunna try it effexor if im gunna try one
ive got a whole case of beer & tonight (obviously im only gunna have a few cuz ive had valium) ive had 80mg oxy & 40mg diaz & im feeling calm but its not a long-term fix like SSRIs/SNRIs are

I take zyprexa every night but im gunna change back to seroquel because it has a shorter duration meaning im not still effected while im awake.
but.. APs do help anxiety i think. they help ya sleep which. insomnia is one of the worst things associated with anxiety.

otc antihistamines are good sleep aids. I liked phenergan (promethazine 75mg the max recommended dose) im surprized its otc because its quite a sedating med. I think its only otc in australia though not the ux. otherwise try diphenhydromine but seems to give a mild headache the next day but helps with sleep. if u sleep well than ya anxiety does down

other tips: quit smoking if ya smoke. its gets worse before it gets better but anxiety levels decrease after the w/d. there has been studies shown that smokers have higher anxiety/depression.
dont drink more than 300mg caffeine a day. that's 3 cups of coffee or 6 tea bags. its actually recommended that u shouldnt drink more than 250mg of caffeine a day) but i think 3 cups of coffee is fine. 2 in the morning to wake up & 1 in the afternoon.
if ya addicted to coffee buy decaf for when yav had more than 3 cups. its tastes the same & u wont get jittery.
& alcohol. dont drink more than 8 beers to get drunk. cuz it increases anxiety for few days after ya stop. better yet. dont drink at all.

Since there's been mention of Effexor - I'll just add Tramadol to the mix.

I know you're on suboxone right now and tapering off, and that Tramadol is a very mild opiate (heck, if you're dead-set on NOT relapsing, it may very well help) - with a sub-profile as an SNRI - similar to that of Effexor.

Just something to consider.

tramdaol was the best med i ever got prescribed to treat depression. its more an antidepressant than a pain killer.
my dr actually knew i was using it as an AD & gave me 180 100mg pills all at once. nut generally u cant cant get tramadol as an AD. it has to be for a pain killers. that sux cuz its been the best SNRI/SNRI ive ever tried for depression anxiety. its only as weak as codeine as a pain killers. it SHOULD be prescribed for depression its very effective

Comically - my doctor was ADAMANT(!!!) that Tramadol would have "absolutely no" effect on my depression.

I like the doc because he Rx's 100's of pills at once, but don't like him because he's the doctor version of a dumb cop... 8)

I don't think giving a depressed person an opioid addiction is particularly smart IMO...

Yes tramadol has good SNRI qualities. It's still an opioid though.

And just because you say it is "as weak as codeine"... Well I know countless people who have gone to rehab over codeine habits.

I'm not suggesting it for that purpose - I'm also suggesting it because it can potentially ease the WD from suboxone and maybe even fix some of the depression / lethargy that comes with it.

I full well understand the risk, and would NEVER intentionally put someone at risk (hay, I'm no doctor!). <3

I only mean well, Trips, don't fret. :)

Wow, I have never seen a doctor prescribe tramadol for depression. Although I have seen Other opiates prescribed off label for depression...

What a terrible thing. Opiate addiction is the worst, in my opinion.
