Festivals 2012

ravin on the beach sounds amazing ::) im a bit jealous i missed out on the holy ship however from some pictures it looked way crowded :(

have you heard about the beach party? that has the potential to be better than a field, especially with some breakcore on in the background :D

No! Beachparty + breakcore sounds like my idea of heaven!!

Very tempted by this...

^ I have a few friends who have been and all speak very highly of it. A little more "family friendly" than certain other festivals, but sounds pretty awesome all the same :D ;)

secret garden party! looks so good. anyone been? whats it like and whats it like getting party necessities in ;)
also i may go to boomtown and bestival.

a bunch of my mates have been SGP and i've only heard really good things about it. not sure about security...but all my mates managed to get wasted so it cant be too tight.

i'm probably gonna go Fieldview again this year as well as Boomtown.

security on the gates when we first got there looked tight, with police searching bags etc, but once we had parked and got ourselves up to the gates that had all disappeared. There was one dog who seemed just for show and they did a brief feel of the bag for big glass bottles, but in the end mine didnt get searched anyway cos the zip was a bit fucked so she couldnt be bothered. My advice would just be to have a smart hiding place, which Id do going to any festival anyway and your unlikely to get caught. Once inside, (despite afterwards reading about heavy handed security) we were never troubled once, and I never felt like I was going to be bothered by any security, was very chilled.

For all you old PUNKS! & indeed all you newer PUNKS! This is the festival of the summer!!! As usual there are hundreds of bands playing! Amazing to see some of the bands that have come out of the wood work for this! Should be another brilliant weekend!!!! :) :) :)

Also wanna reach for Download. Never been and I'm not sure about the atmosphere but I gotta see 'tallica and black sabbath!
The same response as every year, for me - Download. Metallica, Prodigy, Chase and Status (which I think is a drum and bass first for Download) and Machine Head, to name the main ones. There's loads more to be added. I'd be happy to pay just to see those four. Chase and Status are the only ones I haven't seen before, but I bet they're immense, when you're in a crowd of 50+ thousand.

Also, Todstock. Fairly local to me. Went last year, and it's basically a load of huge tents, in a really nice park, with loads of different styles of dance/electronic music being pumped out of them. Then there was a stage for the rock acts. Spent a lot of time just sat chilling, when not dancing, without loads of people walking over me. Really pleasant (except the few scrotes that were sat with their prams, swigging booze) and free. The only thing we had to pay for was to camp in the back garden of this massive house. It had peacocks and rabbits running about, and had an Alice in Wonderland theme. We could use the toilet inside, which is a massive plus, and shelter from any rain. Loads less hassle than a mainstream festival. No security hassling you. Even the guy that owned the house was off his tits. Definitely going back. I just hope the guy doesn't ask who threw up on his lawn, because it definitely, 100% wasn't me. ;) I'd recommend it to anyone living close (or fancying a cheap one).

Todstock was so sick last year!! Free, and decent as fuck! bought some wicked pills was an awkward train back to leeds haha.

Pendulum played at Download when I went in 08, and they have an argument every year about DNB and electronic music at it every year.

Moshers went mad last year cos Modestep was playing. So would I personally lol.

really want to go to the secret garden party this year. a group of friends have suggested going and i have heard good things.

I believe Pendulum played last year, also. Prodigy are a regular occurrence now, because moshers seem to love them.

Going to as many as possible but working. Got a couple of tickets for stuff already, Boomtown and something that I can't remember in September, for pure having fun and not having to worry about being semi-sober the next day.

Boom Town was defo a laugh last year, but there was more focus on drugs than festival i thought. Pretty much ALL the late night music sounded the same. Would still recommend it, but not one ill be attending again i rekks. I've submitted my deets for burning man, hopefully i'll get the ticket tier i want. Anyone else going to Burning Man this year?
