I got dependent on prescription drugs 2 yrs ago. First part of the first year (6 months), drugs were prescribed to me for fibermylogia, severe headaches. The longest I have gone is 15 days without any type of opiate or tramadol. I thought I had it licked but after the 15th day the intense acheing of my body returned. I went back on vicoden 80 mgs a day. If I couldn't get the vic's I would take tramadol 200 mg every 8 hrs which I had an easy supply of. I found I had gotton hooked on the tramadol also. So then someone told me to try extended 30 morphine to get off the tramadol. Eventually I got up 90 mgs or morphine taken every 12 hours. I am not getting any high effect just keeping from going into withdrawal and the intense body aches subside. I still have plenty of the morphine tabs left but didn't want to get hook to them therefore I got me some 6mg soboxenes. On day 2 of taking a 6mg @ 8 am and another 6mg @ 8pm. It gave me very little relieve. Right now my body hurts all over!!! I want to know if I can take 2 50mg tramdol without risking harm? I have decided the soboxene isn't the way I want to go. I rather try to come off of the tramadol slowly. I know this might sound stupid, but would I have to suffer withdrawal from all the drugs I have taken other than the 2 day's of soboxene? Appreciate any suggestions or answers. Thanks. Yes, I sure got myself screwed up...and yes I am ashamed.

You can combine tramadol and Suboxone, yes, that is all right.

Welcome to Bluelight!

There's no need to be ashamed; you can come off the tramadol as slowly as you need to. The SNRI properties are probably going to make it harder to kick than hydrocodone.

Thanks for your welcome and response. I feel like a hamster in on a wheel. I bought the suboxones, and they sure wasn't cheap because of all the praise people give them. I hate them because even at the high dose 2 strips for two days it just took the edge of. It control the withdrawal though. During those two days my body still ache badly as it does when I am withdrawal from tramodol. So today I took the 4/50milligram tramadol and I am not hurting. I haven't been getting a high off my dosing for about a year. I also can't tell if my pain is from the fiberolgia or withdrawal! Was going to go to a doctor with suboxones in my system to get on the program but since they don't work for me I don't know what to tell a doctor now. I used the morphine to get off the tramadol before. Morphine withdrawal is much milder than tramadol. I will only take the tramodol until I can take the morphine again. How many hours before the receptors in my brain will allow the morphine to work? Thanks again.

Ime, Morphine isnt as bad to get off as some other opiates.........

I'm sorry cause i can't help you, but you don't have to be ashamed for anything, that's for sure, mate...:)

same, morphine is a short acting opiate, so the withdrawal will come on fairly fast and it won't last very long.

Believe it or not, but some people need 16 mg's of bupe' the first couple of days (not until you feel the w/d's coming on)
Give it another go, see if you can get subutex prescribed from a Dr. you will feel much better in the loooooonnnng run...
Sorry, this message is for the o.p.

Fire&Water, I am very weary. It didn't work. That is how I came to be on this site. Trying to find out what I could take for pain with the bupe in my system. I found out I can used the tram. By time I took the tram, I believe most of the bupe was out of my system because I just felt a little euphoria. The pain was gone and no withdrawals. I might give the bupe (alone) another chance because I have 12 strips left. Right now I am still getting over the failure of the miracle drug. On the extended morphine again to keep from withdrawing. So the hamster continues to run on the wheel :( Thanks for your input.

Fire&Water since morphine is also an opiate why would I not expect the same results as folks coming off of oxycotin/codone? Because I use tramadol? Are you saying the bupe doesn't work to withdrawal from tramadol? As I said, I had taken the bupe before coming to this sight and it is held up as a wonder drug from my source. Maybe I am not explaining myself clearly. I abuse the following, vicoden, tramadol, & morphine. The morphine is long-lasting so I use it until I run out then vicoden then tramadol in that order. Tramadol is the worst to withdrawal from for me so I take it at only as a last resort. I get the feeling that there is no way of getting around withdrawing from tramadol painfully is there? I can be off of it 3 wks taking morphine but when I come off of morphine I will have to experience the feeling of withdrawing off of the tramadol?

all 3 pills (the vicodin, tramadol & morphine) are opiates. no matter what opiate you take and stop, you will get withdrawals. when you switch from full on painkillers to Subs the transition will be tough. however if you proceed for a couple days on the Sub, you will feel relief. however, if you are in constant pain, and you get of painkillers, then the pain will remain.

after 2 years of pain medication, it will be tough to switch. it is not as easy as some people make it sound. after 5 months of dope, and switching to subs, the first 2 days were rough than it got progressively easier.

there will always be some kind of withdrawal. however, with a quick Sub taper, it can be very minimal.

If Tramadol gives you the worst w/d's try to use vicoden exclusively for say, 3 weeks to give time to your
receptors/body to expell the Tram' It might prove to be much easier. I was in a similar situation & I used
dilaudid for 17 days before starting subutex again...

Oh thanks Fire&Water I feel like there is hope since you know exactly what I am talking about!!! Thanks so much! I am going to do give your method ago. Then off to a doctor so I can get on a sub treatment program and that prayerfully for only a short time. At least it will be legal. Rob now you are the carrier of bad news 8o =D because the reason I started pain meds was because of the constant pain of fibermylogia. I am unable to function with that type of persistent pain! I was told the sub's were also a pain reliever! Withdrawals I have done and can do again but there must be some kind of relieve from the pain that caused me to take the drugs to do get addicted in the first place.

Don't be ashamed of your habit. It's a very real and prevalent problem people face. Addiction works at the most primal parts of the brain, so rational and trying to "think" your way out of it is often hard or impossible.

As others have mentioned tramadol works as a slight anti-depressant (i believe). It shouldn't give as bad of WDs as other opiates might, but there will be some depression and anxiety (more so than normal opiate WD gives).

Best of luck, let us know how it goes.

edit: I agree totally with fireandwater on the point about spending a couple weeks on vicodin instead of tramadol. That will allow for your mind to go through the pain of coming off of a semi-antidepressant. Once that's gone, it should be much easier to quit.
Perhaps do some research or talk to your doctor about starting an SSRI or something to help with the mental aspect of tramadol WD. It probably isn't the best idea to go completely cold turkey on it.

comparison to morphine and opana in potency. Thanks Pinkcloud for responding. I am glad I found this site because I don't feel so isolated now. I am one of those users that folks wouldn't even believe I use. Therefore I have no one to talk to about how bad I feel to let myself get into this mess. It truly started out legit like most folks. Along with the feeling of being a hypocrite around my family and friends I hate the money I spend on it. I have thoughts like the poor starving people in the world and I am dishing out $$$ for drugs! A friend who apparently knows only about his choice of drug, crack, was suppose to score me some extended OP's but instead the goof ball shows up with extended opana 20mg! I truly than God for the online pill identifiers :D. I am used to taking the morphine ER 120 mg every 12 hrs just to ward off withdrawals. Vic's wear off to fast and soon as it does my nose drains so badly it makes me choke. Those choking episodes are known as my sinus attacks lol. I have taken 3 of the opana 20mg and I feel a little bit better than I do with the morphine. I still wish I could feel an euphoria but don't know the safe amount to take of this opana drug. Unlike the morphine, it isn't draining my energy. I was wondering if the two are the same drug really as far as potency? After some reading I have decided not to ever break extended anything! I still got some subs for emergencies. I use to be take Zoloft by doctor's orders 4 yrs ago but stop taking them because I felt I was healed. I know dumb. If anyone reads these ramblings the main thing I would like to know is the comparison to morphine and opana in potency. Thanks.

Took subs today but feel so tense and want to drop some zanys. Will they still work with the subs and if so how much is safe to take? Would appreciate a fast reply so I can take them as soon as possible tired of feeling tied all up. Thanks.
