Shaun Ryder is alright though n just acted like a normal addict , Docherty acted like a right knob , contrived , i thought flashing his money cheeky cunt , amateur junkie !!

A junkie that willingly gives another junkie money on a trusting basis to go get them gear and come back. That's the first thing you learn. No cunt gets out of my sight with my money unless they leave us with something they need. But tbh, if I had fuck tons of money I prolly wouldn't give a fuck anyway.

That is an absolutely terrible post for various reasons. Fair enough I don't really like the guy much but I'd half expect him to act like an idiot based on what I know of him. However you labelling him as 'a wanker' for flashing money, at the end of the day you's ripped him off. He was probably just being generous and not really caring. Stupid move aswell, would imagine if you's had went back with it, it would have probably been the more lucrative move. Labelling him as scum aswell makes you look a bit daft, I don't really like him or care much for knowing anything about his private life, but at least he has some musical talent.

Also the at least Shaun Ryder was tight as a ducks arse? Doesn't really make sense, respect someone for being tight with you. Yet you slate someone who handed you £50 for your smack. Admitting you 'hooked him up' on a public forum is absolutely daft aswell. If you edit it I'll edit this post to remove that.

I'm not trying to have a go at you brimz just that post came across as a bit condescending concidering I'm pretty sure you don't like being labelled for doing drugs or whatever else. He's just the same but famous and has had access to lots of money. Pretty sure it would have effected most people being in his situation.

not you. brimz for his initial post. I hadnt read yours before I replied with mine [had 5 tabs i'd opened to respond to for 5 different threads and was working through them]. still haven't read yours either, but I will in a mo.

I have much <3 for brimzini, but this whole 'what makes a proper/real/cool/whatthefuckever drug user/junkie' spiel just makes me sad tbh

I like how Pete is a "fukin wanker" for flashing his cash (which, admittedly, is a wanker thing to do but he was probably nutted & didn't even think about it) yet it's absolutely sound for you & your mate to tell him "Aye. we'll be back with the gear in a minute" then just fuck off :\
 
I have actually bumped into Peter Doherty once. He came across as a respectable enough guy, although some of the folk hanging around him came across as self entitled and obnoxious.

If you take in all the books, interviews, videos and recordings of Peter himself, they basically show that he is essentially a well-raised, unassuming and highly sensitive fella. The guy was born with this manic energy that fuels his creative drive, but also fuelled the destructive self-pity that consumed him, triggered by certain tragedies, betrayals and narcissistic tabloid journalism. It's a huge disservice to his name to think that the majority of people know him only as a junkie waste of space. I used to be the same until I actually took an interest in him after getting into his music.

He has won my admiration through the quality of his music and lyrics...I despair for the never-ending train wreck that is his personal life.

With regards to him flaunting his money to score gear, it's textbook behaviour of the heroin addict who's single-minded desperation overrides self-awareness and dignity. I wouldn't take it as an accurate representation of anyone's true character, be it Peter Doherty or Mark Renton.

Never met him myself but mates have on a number of occasions. Always said he was either too wrecked to move/speak or sound as fuck. Couple of them met him in Barfly (some wee indie bar in Glasgow) either after or before a gig he was playing. They got chatting to him for ages apparently & he ended up buying the whole bar a drink, without announcing that it was him who had paid for everyone's next round (hardly trying to be a flash cunt, if I'd bought a whole bar a round I'd fucking make sure every single person in there knew it was me that paid for it lol.)
