Hi.

Sorry if this isn't "advanced" enough but I don't try snorting salt to get high like some people on this board.
I have taken allot of Drugs for major depression none of which have helped much (except Phenelzine, {which is started to poop out on me + side effects})...
Anyways I was about to give up but recently started taking Baclofen (a GABA-B agonist) (which someone else on this board said makes dopamine more available). But yeah it completely cures my depression & mass anxiety and greatly enhances Alcohol / Nicotine and I am sure many other things but I am starting to tolerate it as well.
I find I get a tolerance to all cocktails so I want to cycle many different non toxic low dose cocktails to try and stay happy.

1. Could you guys please recommend things to add to the Baclofen I'm thinking maybe like DL-Phenylanaline or energy drinks and add some Tryptophan or 5ht?

2. Do you smart people take drugs daily to enhance your life if you don't have any mood disorders???.... Don't even Zen master Buddhist Monks have mood disorders?

3. Wouldn't it be possible to eliminate the lows in life and only experience highs 24/7 ?

Any advice much appreciated.

1) The best thing you can honestly do for mood stability is physical activity. Exercise is the best antidepressant. As for additional things you can take? Marijuana works for some, as the eCB system is integral to all manner of brain and body function and I highly doubt neurotransmitters are any different. But as always, YMMV; I have a friend who goes mad with paranoia whenever he smokes. If that isn't your thing (and it really isn't everyone's cuppa), I would recommend tryptophan from natural sources first before you try a supplement. I'm not too fond of 5-HTP as it has increased risk of hypertension, seems a little harder on the system and has been associated with serotonin syndrome in certain combinations. Also, calcium, magnesium, and B-vitamins are good. Smell some lavender, jasmine, or sandlewood - maybe drink a cup of chamomile tea with valerian.

2) I don't know how many people on here take drugs daily, but I know people do them for a lot of reasons (some of which are admittedly better than others) and I'm sure there are some "smart people" out there who do just want a little life-enhancement therapy. Not sure if I have authority to say. ;)

3) Why would you want to? If you get rid of the "lows," you won't have anything with which to compare the "highs." It's the nature of the reward system.

Before you take a bunch of supplements and medications for depression, though, it might be worthwhile to try exercise and meditation first - only because you know for a fact how much you can take before shit in your head gets real. If you do use the pills, talk to your doctor about what dosage would best facilitate your anti-depressive treatment.

I agree Physical activity is the Best for everything!

My Psychiatrist Doesn't know as much as me and allot of people on here especially BilzOre if he is still on this place Big up to him has helped me allot!!!

I dabbled with Phenelzine + Amphetamine & XTC back in the day and have slight hypertension + Tachycardia
So I will go a bit more easy.

Never really got into the meditation thing though I should look into that.

Trans-humanism sounds interesting I read a thing on "mind hacking" where they hook a super computer to your brain and implant memories / feelings you name it.. hell chuck in some LSD and travel to parallel universes while your at it I say.
