"Losing the magic" is a typical reported problem with repeated MDMA use, especially if you're not waiting 1-3 months in between uses like you should- you'll see many threads here on the topic if you take a look.
I think taking an extended break can only help when you feel like the thrill is gone, and the cons outweigh the pros. Part of enjoying MDMA comes from also accepting how the drug seems to change along the journey you take with it- your body is quite likely to have a different response to it with more uses, it can always be fun, but if you seek out an equal experience to your first few rolls, you'll likely be disappointed. It's best just go in with an open mind and enjoy it for where it takes you each time, rather than where it took you.
Someone on here said something to the effect of "the right time to roll again is when you've forgot how it feels", and I think there is a lot of merit to that theory. If you go in excited and it feels rare, special, and maybe even a bit frightening, it makes it a lot more thrilling and special. Euphoria by definition is no longer euphoria if it become routine at any point.
It's good you've recognized you need this time off, and when you come back to MDMA you'll have a shot at it being exciting again. I think anyone who has rolled for 2+ years can identify with this.
