I've been playing with fire. Ever since i quit suboxone two years ago, I've been more or less happy. Recently, I moved home and started taking suboxone because they just make me feel so damn good. At first it was a once a week sort of flirt, but now evert two or three days I HAVE to take at least 4mgs or I start getting withdrawals (not full on, but enough) I don't even have to pay for the subs, I just use that 48 dollar a month suboxone co-pay card and fill whatever 48 dollars will get me.

Africanus - the bacteria in your saliva will pass right through the cotton filter; only a micron filter would remove the bacteria.

The bacteria is what's going to cause you long-term problems.

I would highly consider just using it sublingually, please. Getting an infection/abscess will be MUCH worse for you long-term wise, than just using it sublingually now.

Is it dangerous to drink on subs or is it just a bad high? Can I have like one drink? Also what will my doc think about me being a past alcohol abuser? I'm so glad you said something!!!

Also forgot to ask if I test negative for opiates and say I havent used in the past few days will it fuck with my chances of getting subs? I really have an opiate problem and believe me I would have a nose full of dope if I could. I am thinking of scoring some dope just so i can test positive even though I cant afford it...

Sorry to throw an off-topic question in here... but is it possible to still get the suboxone pills (the stop sign shaped ones) anywhere? It seems like everyone who is scripted suboxone in my area get the sublingual strips. I'm just curious because I would like to start suboxone treatment, but I don't think I could handle the strips, something about how it dissolves, I dunno. I'm more of an IV person myself, I think I like injecting myself more-so than the dope sometimes.

Edit: I ask anywhere because I'm pretty positive that most of the clinics/pharmacies in the area only have the sublingual film strips in stock...

So i got back on suboxone a day ago...
But today I ended up breakin down and went ahead and copped bout a half g

I want to get back on subs, about how long should I wait to take my suboxone again?
I dosed bout 4 mgs of sub sunday at 4 am. (was withdrawling, waited 24 hrs since my last shot of H)
Then dosed 4 mgs monday, tuesday in the am sometime around 4-5 am I woke mild withdrawling so
I took bout 2 mgs I think to fall back asleep....
Tuesday I copped n did the half g till bout midnight - 2 am...

Now id really just like to say fuck the dope and get back on subs...

But do I need to wait until I'm in full withdrawl again to take
My subs?
I'm sure theres still a lil sub n my system because I didnt get teally
High from the H...

Or am I gunna have to go through the whole shitty transfer process
That takes 2-3 days getting adjusted back on suboxone this time?

I hadnt used any dope all sunday or monday, tuesday I got hit Tuesday
Evening bout 6...

What would some of your guys suggestions on when/how to get back on subs be?

I really hope this goes well... I really fuckin hate myself for relapsing

You could always call a local pharmacy and ask if they have the pills in stock
I know most docs are prescribing the strips now tho...

To the question bout drinking on subs...

I was on subs for bout 7 months and I would drink on the weekends n things pretty much just as I did back before I ever got addicted to opiates...
as for how safe it is I cant answer, my liver could b fucked for all I know. :/
i never really felt the difference while I was drinking...
but I just tried to live a normal life like I did before I ever got hooked, which included drinkin 3-6 nights a month... Mostly just beer, occasional harder stuff but I didnt notice any difference...

This is really true, I wound up in a hospital for a month after shooting up some amphetamine pills some guy gave me from his pocket. I got a staff infection and it really fucking sucked

Swim took 1 mg of suboxone sublingually three times in the past 24 hrs, at 1:00AM, 8:00AM, and 4:00PM.
SWIM also took 5mg of dexedrine every time suboxone was taken.
Everything went smoothly (no nausea, just itching), but now, as it is time for SWIM to go to bed, SWIM is afraid of waking up feeling really lousy (extremely tired, unmotivated, sore) after having read some negative first-time use reports. SWIM has no history of substance abuse...

I've been on Suboxone for the past two years and yesterday I ran out and was sick, so I ended up getting two 10mg Methadone pills and taking them at around 8PM. Today, I haven't taken anything yet and I just got more Suboxone, I'm withdrawing but don't feel like absolute hell yet, just pretty uncomfortable. I really want to do 1 or 2 milligrams of the Suboxone but I'm afraid I will go into precipitated withdrawals. Is a 20-24 hour wait enough time or do I need to wait longer than that? I've been taking Suboxone every day for two years and I have only done the Methadone once yesterday, am I at risk of precipitated withdrawals if I take the Suboxone soon? If so, how long should I wait before taking it so I would not have any precipitated withdrawals?

Thanks a lot Cap'n, this is very informative and answered all the questions I have. I am not quite in a financially adequate position to invest in all this gear right now. Just took my first shot of bupe ever (have been on maintenance for 6 years on and off) and my usual dose is 16 mg a day. 1 8mg Subutex shot knocked me on my ass though. I am aware of the danger and I think if I am gonna turn this into a habit I will definitely invest in the micron filter gear. I hope to just take the subutex as prescribed. - Thanks again for your help.

You'll be fine as is right now.

Oh and thank you captain heroin, for your advice, it's what I suspected.

Now however the problem has solved itself, I have been put onto the strips and they cannot be salvaged once placed in my mouth.

Now I can only inject on the weekends.

Which means that I will suffer withdrawals all week now from the reduced bioavailability of sublingual dosing.

They've really fucked me this time.

Not only that above, but they reduced my dose by 2 mg to 8mg daily instead, because the chemist reckons the bioavailability of the film is 20 percent higher and so it equals my original dose.

I smell bullshit what do you guys reckon.

I love that flick. Excellent book as are all of Phillip K. Dick's novels... Does anyone with a lot of experience on bupe have an opinion on Suboxone Vs. Subutex? I have read tons of stuff about naloxone hypersensitivity and all the reasons that people like Tex better but I just switched today and I swear I'm feeling a lot better. Could be Psychosomatic but either way I'd like to hear some personal experiences of Suboxone Vs. Subutex. Hope everyone is having a great day

The dose they make you go down to is 30mg at the clinic and then they make you wait 3 days until you can start Subx. I would say that if you wanna be on the safe side just wait until this evening, I think you should be just fine taking it now but just in case I would wait until 8pm if you can.

I inject, well I did inject, until a day ago, both subutex and suboxone.

Just my experience, and everyone's different, but subutex got me really high, better than H.
As for preventing H cravings, and it's other effects like analgesia, it was to me, the same as suboxone.

While suboxone makes me feel real good for the next 6 hours or so and then satisfied until next dose, it never made me really really high like subutex.

The only bad thing about injecting subutex was that after the high, I'd crave another high, and end up injecting the whole weekends supply chasing it.
Despite the fact that I've only been able to get high once a day, so it was a waste.

I've been on Suboxone for two years and before I got on it I drank heavily and carelessly and loved it a little too much. After being on Suboxone for a while, alcohol began to have a completely different effect on me. First off, I literally wasn't able to get drunk anymore, if I drank enough to get drunk I would just get sick instead with a really bad headache, hot sweats, a feeling of severe dehydration, and insomnia. Now I usually still have a beer or two every now and then, sometimes having two beers a day for up to a week straight, but if I drink any more than two or three beers then I suddenly start to get the really bad headache, hotsweats, and overall sick feeling which completely kills any buzz I get off of the alcohol. This never happened when I was taking other opiates, so there is something Suboxone does to my mind and/or body that alters the way it reacts to alcohol and keeps me from drinking to get drunk like I normally do. Now I usually just drink a few craft beers for the taste and to get a little buzz, but whenever I drink more than a few it makes me very sick, not dopesick but just sick-feeling in general.

Hopefully Suboxone isn't completely destroying my liver, I really really hope not.
