its become somewhat common practice around here if some suburban kid dies of an H overdose that they go for the person who provided em with the drugs, its like what the fuck happened to being responsible for ones own actions, if they didnt shoot you up against your will then its your fault imo

I dont think you completely understand the facts of the case, sir.

Conrad Murray administered Propofol to Jackson intravenously. Instead of observing Jackson after dosing him, Murray left him unattended, and made several phone calls, which totalled to approximately 40 minutes. When he came back, Jackson was cold and stiff. If Murray had done his job, and stuck around to supervise Jackson, Michael would probably still be alive.




By the way, Murray has just received his sentence, the maximum, 4 whopping years..

not saying if i gave someone dope and then something happened i wouldnt feel personally responsible, but if they asked me to do it im just not sure that i should be held liable, i understand in our society i probably would be but i am just not entirely convinced, if they wanted it and are a competant adult capable of making thier own decisions then it is what it is.

do you know who decided the dose? i understand as a doctor he would be responsible but i just think the whole situation is hard to judge

Doctors are held to a higher standard of care than the rest of us. They've been trained, they're licensed, they took the Hippocratic Oath - all that good stuff. If I were going into surgery, I'd want an anesthesiologist - not just any rogue junkie with an iv drip. If I want to engage in risk seeking behaviors and just want to get high, bring me that well-equipped junkie friend.

Murray didn't follow the proper protocol for administration of propofol.

People put a lot of trust in doctors. Often this trust is warranted, these are highly trained professionals.

There's no commonly accepted standard of care among dope fiends. We're not licensed or trained. If you help out of friend hit a hard to reach vein, you're not held to the same standard of care as a doctor who administered a powerful drug and then went to chat on his cell instead of monitoring his patient's stats.

Congratulations, mayne. 8 months, that is a huge accomplishment, i wish i could say the same. BUT, youre not out of the woods, yet. Constant vigilance, sir, for once an addict, always an addict. All it takes is one slip up, to turn your world upside down.
 
i have mixed feelings about conrad murray. on one side i think he should be held accountable but on the other side jackson was a full blown junky and i feel like conrad murray was start struck...i think he should definitely do some time but im not sure i would sentence him to four years...

jackson knew the risks that were involved, he knew that propofol was a dangerous chemical and knew that there was a likely chance something could go wrong....but murray also knew all of this and should be held accountable in some way...

definitely not a jackson fan, in fact i dont think he was anything more spectacular than what he was in reality...a junky who was fucked up in the head and liked to play with little boys. He just happened to be talented enough to make oodles of money.
