I would like to point out that anecdotal evidence, no matter how emotive, is not proof that a drug like cannabis cures cancer. Anyone can come along and post a Youtube video claiming to cure cancer. I'll believe it when I see a properly designed clinical drug trial, not some guy like Rick Simpson who left school at 14 on Youtube. I don't mean this as a person attack on you, but I find it frustrating that Simpson is given so much credibility.
Cannabis is probably one of the most therapeutically useful plants in existence, but to claim it is a 'cure-all' and cures cancer is disingenous. It might also tarnish the reputation of cannabis as a treatment for nausea as well, so I would take these videos with a large pinch of salt is all I'm saying.
That said, he does make a good point that Big Pharma is threatened by cannabis. The number of illnesses that can be treated is astonishing I agree, and it cannot be patented in the same way as a single-active substance drug. The fact that anyone can grow it in a cupboard means that they will do anything they can to lobby the politicians to prevent it from becoming decriminalised or legalised. I believe the pharmaceutical companies were even caught funding those crappy anti-drug PSAs once, showing they have a vested interest in keeping it illegal and they know it. I skeptical that it is an outright and unfortunately I doubt you'll see much research into its potential to treat the disease in the near future with the way things are going, so don't get your hopes up. If you have cancer I would recommend using it, since it can keep you healthy during chemotherapy by suppressing nausea and allowing you to eat. This can improve your chances of survival because without good food, your body will be unable to repair cells damaged by chemotherapy which is pretty non-selective at the moment. So it does have its use, but it isn't a panacea.
