Ive always felt that if i eat pills on an empty stomach i get way higher in fact i dont even eat while im high to avoid ruining the high. But some of my friends say it doesn't matter either way.
I would like to hear your take on it.

I've always dosed on low to empty stomachs. It certainly affects the high I get. However, not eating does increase sickness. I try to eat a little something just so my stomach isn't completely empty.

At least 5 hours after a meal for me but preferably on a empty stomach

Do you think a full stomach will make the overall effect less stronger?
And also what if your snorting a pill will a full stomach matter at all then?

Full stomach means it's gonna take longer for everything to get absorbed into blood, so it can decrease effect.

Snorting probably won't make much difference, as it doesn't go through first pass

Insufflation/nasal sprays are not affected by eating, nor is anything taken sublingually (assuming you don't end up swallowing most of the pill).

Also...who would consider not eating for 5 hours, NOT an empty stomach? It only takes the body 4 hours to empty the stomach into the small intestine on average (longer if you ate a huge meal).

Taking opiates on an empty stomach results in nausea for me so I never take them on an empty stomach. Also, the high is just as good if I take them an hour after ive eaten a nice meal.

Although everyone will tell you to take things on an empty stomach, I think both an empty and full stomach have their advantages. On a full stomach it takes longer for your drug of choice to be absorbed. This is good or bad depending on what you're looking for - the effects tend to be a bit weaker, however they also tend to last a little longer. I've used this little method to extend psychedelic trips - taking my dose right after a meal.

It's also useful to eat beforehand if you have trouble eating while high, as it saves you from going without food until after you come down.

That said though, in general if you want it to hit you hard, keep your stomach empty :)

I always go for an empty stomach when dosing opiates, for example: morphine, codeine, dihydrocodeine, opium tea.

This is because i like my drugs to kick in fast. However its been so long since i've tried taking any opiate on a full stomach i cant say for sure if it's significantly weaker.
I've read some reports of people saying that the fat in some foods can aid in absorbsion but it cant be that amazing otherwise all over bluelight people would be saying shit like "trust dude, eat a bucket of chickin b4 popping yer oxy it's the bomb"

The only opioid a doctor or pharmacist will tell you to take on an empty stomach as opposed to with a meal is oxymorphone. I believe that translates to "take it on a full stomach" for recreational users ;)

Isn't there also a risk of a pill not getting enough surface area (and surface time) in a stomach shared with a meal due to competition and some of the drug only potentially being absorbed in later stages of digestion, resulting in lower bioavailability? Many drugs, opioids included, I believe, are absorbed in both the stomach and in the intestines, so it seems less time in one stage could result in lost potential total absorption.

Anyway, with oral opioids, I only take them on an empty stomach, usually preceded by Tums or cimetidine. With hydrocodone or oxycodone, I eat a snack 3-4 hours after dosing to allay nausea or prevent it before it arrives. Sounds counter-intuitive, but I eat at the first sign of opioid-induced nausea, and have only vomited on a few occasions where I didn't. I don't experience nausea on stronger morphine derivatives.

I prefer an empty stomach. But doctors have told me that some medicines actually require some amount of food - some fatty acids and shit like that - in the stomach to be fully absorbed. I'm pretty sure that certain AD's are not absorbed properly unless taken with food.

But yeah, opiates are better on an empty stomach.
