Ethylphenidate numbing? or cut with benzocaine?

I just got some ethylphenidate...When I put 20mg in drops of water, everything dilutes...I tried it twice and both time I feel a strong numbing of my nose and throat...is that normal? or is this evidence that it's cut with benzocaine?
If so, can I remove the benzocaine?

Likely cut with benzocaine, ethylphenidate should be a vasoconstrictor but not a local anesthetic agent.

for some reason when i used to snort ritalin i found it had a numbing effect that was wayyyy milder than cocaine.

i think both ethylphenidate and camfetamine are being cut with numbing agents in a big way

Its probably cut it as lacks the whole ester or amide next to a aromatic structure that sodium channel blockers have

I actually though ethylphenidate stung in my nose significantly - so that is more or less the opposite...

Pentedrone supposedly has a large numbing effect, I wonder if it's being cut and if it is...why? Also whatever is doing the numbing must be more potent a local anesthetic than cocaine/procaine analogs if 10-20mg has both an intense stimulant and numbing effect.

camfetamine had a very strong oral and nasal numbing effect similar to coke cut with analogue numbing agents

There's two things at work that provide a "numbing" feeling, sodium channel block (strong numbing as seen in e.g. procaine, benzocaine) and vasoconstriction (weaker "tingling" numbing as seen in e.g. nicotine, methylphenidate). I think that if your ethylphenidate or whatever is as strong an anesthetic as e.g. benzocaine then it's likely to be cut.

Cocaine is notable because it has both these "numbing" effects.
