Recently, I've began to seriously reflect upon some things about my body and mind that are, in all honesty, impossible. A few of my most intimate friends have began referring to me as an "alien." So, without further adieu, I have some examples of things that I wish to share with my favorite internet community...

-My normal resting heart rate ranges from 39-42. I check it every time I wake up.
Recently, I was hospitalized after falling extremely ill with some unknown pathogen that was never identified. I had a 104 degree fever for 5 days straight, during this period, my heart rate never rose above 50 bpm. I had sever CNS, liver, gallbladder, intestinal inflammation and was on 2.5 mg of dilaudid (hydromorphone) intravenously every 1.5 hours. I have zero opiate tolerance. For those of you who don't know what that means, that is unheard of, from what I can tell, as a medical dose.

-Once my fever broke and my body temperature returned to normal (100.2-101.0 for me) my heart rate dropped to, for the latter three days of my stay, 35 to 37 bpm. I attribute the slight drop to the heavy opiate dosing. My oxygen saturation was 100%, which was the only reason the nurses didn't rush me to the cardiac intensive care unit.

-The only other medically verified results I have received are the results of a recent blood test, confirming a doctor's hunch of hyperactive adrenal glands.

-another important thing, I don't drink solely because it's a waste of time and money, as alcohol literally does not affect me. I drank, in the presence of about 25 witnesses, 43 shots in 3 hours. And then gave up because most of the vodka was paid for by a friend about who's budget I actually cared.

- Oh, and I also stopped seeing a therapist once because of an impending psychiatric diagnosis of "psychosis" or something like that.

- For the last 8 weeks (since I started keeping track) I have slept, on average, 9 hours per week. (Before anyone asks, I am not a meth addict and only take amphetamine once per week at 6:30 am.

-Before I entered the hospital, I weighed 220 lbs. I couldn't eat any protein for 2 weeks, and lost 20 pounds. After this period, once I started lifting again, I gained 10 pounds of muscle (and 50 lbs in squat max) in 10 days.

Now, before any of you interpret this as simply inhuman arrogance, I must (perhaps meaninglessly) say that I truly am not arrogant. I genuinely despise conceited people and strive to not emulate what I view as one of humanity's worst and most destructive traits.

Well, that's the tip of the iceberg. I just want to hear some second opinions.

Maybe this is some genetic mutation? That could possibly explain some of these abnormalities.

As for the 43 shots of vodka thing I gotta say I don't really believe you. If amphetamines works for you there is no reason any other intoxicating substance shouldn't and the toxic amounts of alcohol you say you ingested would kill almost any living creature on Earth. Since you have verified that you actually have blood than obviously you are human. So 43 shots of vodka would have killed you.

I don't believe the 43 shots part, but the rest can be explained by overactive testosterone glands.

Symptoms include weak immune system (explains the fever), high adrenaline, ability to gain fast muscle, iron rich blood (oxygen saturation), etc.

Perhaps XYY syndrome? probably a long shot...

I wasn't expected anyone to believe the 43 shots part....

thanks for the suggestions though. I did test normally for testosterone levels.

And no. I do not suffer from psychosis.

I'm going to send this over to healthy living, mods feel free to move along if it doesn't fit.

Well, it sounds like something is "loose". The low bpm is quite odd, but not unbelievable. Your average body temperature is quite a bit higher than it should be. Your apparent natural tolerance of opiates is very high, but I have heard of similar natural opiate tolerances. As for the alcohol consumption, which I struggle to believe, the way your body processes alcohol would have to be different (very quick clearance) and you must have EXTREME alcohol tolerance (natural or otherwise). You do weigh 220 lbs, so that does lower your BAC compared to a lighter person, but I still struggle to believe. I can believe your average sleeping time, though drastically short it is. I have to ask are you on any medications at all? Either way I would suspect extreme thyroid issues, compounded with extreme natural hardiness, possible unknown birth defects, and or manic tendencies, perhaps even unnoticed. You know I have a goldfish, won at a carnival like 6 or 7 years ago, huge. It lives in a small bowl, and has survived the shittiest quality watter, and has been found on the floor, but it is still living. Some creatures just don't die easily.

You're human. You may not fit the exact mold of the average values of the various metrics that you've mentioned, but that may just mean that you're a somewhat rarer breed, or have something else going on that is causing this. Do the symptoms bother you? Are they indicative of any other overarching issue? Chances are, random internet people won't be able to tell you the latter, and the former can come only from you.

You're just different. Maybe alcohol flows through you without absorbing into your system or something. The rest of the stuff isn't that weird imo. Stop using all drugs and tell us how you feel.

Or maybe you really are an alien....I believe in them 8o

That's awesome! If the alcohol part is true, challenge people who don't know that about you to drinking games and bet big money. Get your friends to bet on you too, take 30%.

Maybe you're made from the same sort of hardiness mould as Rastputin. I won't ask how well endowed you are.

Have you ever heard of these people: http://www.oddee.com/item_96473.aspx ?

Maybe you should give them a call.

As for sleep, I can hardly imagine that's a good thing. Alas, some people just don't fit the mold of "average". Keep searching and try to find a new psychologist. A mental diagnosis won't do you any good at this point.

Moreover, give meditation a try and make sure you're not spreading any sorts of lies to those around you.

Finally, don't do the vodka shot game again. Even if it's not absorbed in your stomach, all that acid isn't good for your intestines.

i thought i was a freak with a normal body temperature of ~96.5 degrees

but > 100 degrees?

you win.

The high body temp would explain the opiates, similar thing happened to my husband when he was in hospital.

Also the psychosis thing interests me, as to why you left your therapist mostly. But that's just my own interests there.

Interesting im glad i stopped by. Get one or two of your 25 witnesses to post and confirm the 43 shots of alcohol. Thats the most interesting to me and i see no reason why you would come on here just to lie. Or maybe you are just ARROGANT.

O and i second what Charleston car said!

im intrigued more responses are targeted at the alcohol consumption ? 9 hours of sleep a week would zombify me

im pretty sure there was a french cyclist in the TOUR DE FRANCE who had a stunningly low rate for someone who does so much exercise, so that's not totally unusual

is this opening post about boasting ?

bell curve my friend. the normal distribution of a sample predicts that in normal biological systems there are outliers. you may simply be an outlier. this what what makes evolution possible. marvel at your uniqueness ^^.
