Stimulants would adderall reduce tramadol withdrawals?

I've been addicted to Tramadol for more than a year now, my usual daily dose is at least 500 mg, and could reach 800 mg max sometimes.
Few days ago I was luckily diagnosed with ADD + impulsivity by coincidence which explained all the sorrow in my life, and was referred to another doctor who can prescribe meds.
So after some research I found out that I'll be taking one of those: Adderall, Ritalin, Stratterra.
The first two seems to be interesting =D but I wonder if they would help me withdrawing from tramadol, this would be awesome as I am barely managing to stop myself from increasing the dose, and it could be a life saver!

So to make it short: Which of these is better to replace tramadol? Adderall or Ritalin, or neither?

I am asking because I am probably not going to tell the psy-something-ic about my addiction.

Thanks

Well Ritalin is kind of a mild drug IMO. I use to take it, and it worked for my ADD, but its not as strong as Adderall.
Like I said IMO, maybe my body just got use to it and thats why I found it mild.

Yep, I am more interested in Adderall, I am craving for focus so I could read deeper into C++!

I got mentally addicted to tramadol from the first place because it improved my work, depression, listening and talking just at the first dose ever! but didn't understand what was actually happening until now, but unfortunately tramadol stopped improving my focus 2 months later, and now I am just taking it to feed my addiction ... and for the high.

Now I know that Adderall increases something called dopamine ... isn't tramado withdrawals comes because the brain stops making dopamine or something?

Adderall will help you focus better, but Idk if it would do anything for withdraws, Ive never took anything to help when I was W/Ding.

I didnt really notice any kind of focus from Tramadol, maybe a little, but my mind was still all over the place. So you do actually get high from it? What would you compare it to? Hmm...do you think 150mg just wasnt enough for me, or do you think I may just be one of the people that it doesnt work on?

Im honestly not sure, Lol,Im so tired I dont feel like thinking much. But that does sound about right and makes sense.

To answer your question, no. Tramadol is a combination SNRI and opiate drug. Withdrawal off tramadol is essentially antidepressant withdrawal (SNRI) at the same time as opioid withdrawal. Amphetamine or methylphenidate will not help your withdrawal - they are stimulant drugs that will exacerbate the physical symptoms of withdrawal, though they may make you feel better temporarily.

It sounds like you are a bit of a drug seeker, ne? I strongly suggest finding better ways to learn to program - amphetamine/stimulant addiction is a pit you don't want to dive into. Try coffee or energy drinks. As for detoxification, either titrate your dosage down or seek help from a professional program. Discontinuing high dose tramadol will be a painful dragon to wrestle with.

I would tell your shrink about your addiction because hiding it will just prolong the misery, IME.

As far as the amp goes, I wouldn't try to take it, but maybe it will help take your mind off the wd. Good luck man and stay safe.

Stimulants are rarely useful for WD they often excacerbate the widespread pain and muscle tension caused by WDS. But im sure if you try 'em out you will find if they are any use, when i started methylphenidate it actually reduced my anxiety because i felt more able to function so i suppose in some situations they could help... but i wouldnt expect them to help.

well I started with 200 mg in one dose, and it was the first drug ever! before that I rarely took any type of drugs, my body was healthy ... but my mind wasn't!

well that's a bad news ...

not sure, tram was the first drug ever, but in general I am a stable persone, I freaked out when I was pushed by a friend to take 2 pills (100mg each) but I got mentally addicted because in 6 hours I finished a 4 days work which was amazing! then later I started calling old friends and say hi because I was too happy and the depression was wiped instantly, and remembering every dream while sleeping was really interesting, even closing my eyes while listening to music I could day dream very clearly like I am looking into a TV screen, that was the first time I realize I have another intelligent mind in my head, its like I was connected with my sub-conscious! the best days of my shitty life!
well almost all that fun was gone after I started tolerating it.
So if I could achieve at least focus with Adderall, there's no reason for me to keep taking tram.

I live in one of the worst countries when it comes to drugs and medical services, they're so strict that just taking tramadol might get me in jail for 6 - 12 months so I'd rather not tell anyone about it, at least they would interrogate me to tell where I got them from, and I would never do that.

Thank you guys for the info, I think I'll try to slowly decrease my tramadol dose, while taking the prescribed adderall dose, or if the new doctor seems to be wise and understanding I'll tell him about it.

Proper way would to do a slow taper, maybe with some benzos for back up...:\ good luck!
